Apologies, but i’ll get to the review in a moment. For now just give a minute of two to revel in the sheer majesty of this commanding wand.
Ahhh…yes…okay, I’m ready.
With a die cast handle and a black silicone head the Doxy Die Cast Massager Wand looks like it’s ready for business. There’s a reason for that: It’s because it is.
Wand vibrators don’t get much stronger than the Doxy Die Cast Massage Wand. To the eye it looks like a tribute to unbridled power, compacted into a wand shape for your pleasure. In use it follows through and then some.
With a toy so unabashedly hard core how could I not adore this product?
The Doxy Die Cast Massage Wand Vibrator
Now, make no mistake, the Doxy Die Cast Massage Wand Vibrator isn’t cheap. With a price tag of £149.99 this wand is a true luxury item and Doxy knows it. Because of this the Doxy Die Cast Massager practically screams deluxe—with its chic metal exterior and a sturdy, custom-made storage case that keeps your product safe and sound. The Doxy Die Cast also comes with a 12 month guarantee as a testament to its durability.
The Doxy Die Cast is a huge wand with an imposing feel about it. It is 13.5 inches in length and the silicone head has a maximum circumference of about 7.7 inches. The case also measures in at a whooping 19.5 inches in length, making every aspect of the Doxy Die Cast a grand display.
Because of its metallic casing Doxy has recommended this wand to those in the BDSM scene and I can totally see it. Could you imagine if your dom placed a sturdy silver case on the side, unzipped it and revealed this wand? I know I’d be squirming. On the flip side imagine what you could do to your sub with a wand like this? Not only is the wand itself a total beast (can you say ‘forced orgasm’?) but the metal handle is also ice cold to the touch—creating the perfect tool for some temperature play.
I personally surprised Mr. Peaches by placing this wand on his side and the way he jolted upwards was a moment of pure glee. But I digress.
The Doxy Die Cast is mains powered, because a toy like this requires some serious juice. Thankfully the cord for the Doxy Die Cast is very accommodating, giving you about 2.8 meters of cord to play with.
While the handle of the Doxy Die Cast is made out of metal the head is made out of silicone. This makes the Doxy Die Cast non-porous, phthalate-free, and completely body-safe. I have to admit, having a silicone head on the Doxy Die Cast really does make all of the difference for me. As much as I like the original Doxy I can’t help but have a preference towards silicone, although the silicone head of the Doxy Die Cast is firmer as a result.
As we’re on the point it is worth addressing the differences between the original Doxy and the Doxy Die Cast (especially seeing as there is a £60 difference between them). These are, as far as I can tell, the main differences:
- The Doxy Die Cast has a storage case. This means it has a safe space to be tucked away but it also takes up more space.
- The Doxy Die Cast is made of sturdier materials. The metal makes it more durable but also significantly colder.
- The Doxy Die Cast is also noticeably heavier. It weighs 830g. Great if you’re looking for heft, not so great if you have mobility issues.
- The Doxy Die Cast has LEDs on its buttons to allow ease of use when in the dark. However I also found them a bit more awkward to reliably press (they seemed a bit unresponsive).
- The Doxy Die Cast eliminated the ridged neck, opting for a smooth neck instead.
Both the Doxy and the Doxy Die Cast need to be cleaned with toy cleaner or soap and a damp cloth. Neither can be submerged or splashed heavily under the sink. This does make cleaning a bit more awkward but, thankfully, the Doxy Die Cast’s neck change really does make all the difference.
Now, I know the real question on your mind; how powerful is the Doxy Die Cast? What does it feel like? Well with a maximum power of 9,000RPM I can report that the Doxy Die Cast feels pretty damned formidable and I love it.
I actually took the time to take out my original Doxy and test it side by side with the Doxy Die Cast. The verdict Mr. Peaches and I came to is that the Doxy Die Cast does feel a bit more potent, but not by too much.
What I did notice was that the Doxy Die Cast has a lower hum to it and feels a bit more resonant during use. Both, to me, feel like they have buzz-based vibrations to them but they’re a lower, deeper buzz rather than a mosquito’s hum. This does make all the difference during use, allowing the Doxy wands to stimulate the genitals without numbing them out. For me this was even more noticeable with the Doxy Die Cast and, I have to say, I do enjoy it more than the original.
What I have personally found with the Doxy Die Cast is that, because it’s head is quite firm and very broad, if I just place it on my vulva then I get pleasant vibrations but they comfortably dimmed by my labia majora. This is the case even on the highest mode.
This isn’t a bad thing, though. In fact it makes all the difference when I do use this toy.
As I’ve mentioned in previous reviews, I tend to like a lot of power to bring me to climax but as soon as I get there my clit gets uber sensitive and I need to pull out with any toy that I’m using. Not so with the Doxy Die Cast.
This is because in order to best utilize the Doxy Die Cast’s incredible power what you need to do is grind or rub up against it rhythmically—exposing it to your genitals in deep, lapping motions. I found this to be the most effective method for me, at least, and it allowed me to really appreciate just how powerful the Doxy Die Cast can be (I rarely use it on the higher settings). I also found that, because the Doxy Die Cast doesn’t feel too intense for me when it is stationary, all I need to do upon orgasm is just stop grinding against it and I can safely and pleasurably enjoy the intense orgasms that it provides.
As for the orgasms…well, if I was a cartoon character my eyes would change to love hearts whenever I had them. Deep, long-lasting, and wholly immersive there is nothing to dislike about these orgasms. They’re exactly what you’d expect from a wand of this caliber. Pure elation.
So are there any flaws with this awe-inspiring wand? Well yes. In fact I’ve already mentioned a few—it’s heavy, it’s not made for compact storage, its buttons can be finicky, and it’s cold to the touch. The metal material also smudges easily, making it lose its sheen after a short period of time. But, to be honest, I use this toy for its effective power not its aesthetic appeal so this doesn’t bother me too much.
On some more practical notes the Doxy Die Cast Wand doesn’t have the rumbliest vibrations on the market. So if you’re looking for a wand with a bit more of a rolling rumble then the Doxy might disappoint in this regard. The Doxy Die Cast also has a very steep learning curve in terms of power. The first setting could actually be considered both rumbly and tame in some regards, however each setting ramps up the juice quite considerably. This is what you’d expect from a Doxy, I know, but it can be quite jarring at times during use.
Other than that there’s not too much more to say against the Doxy Die Cast. I suppose all that is left, then, if for me to (Die) Cast my final judgement.
Final Thoughts
While testing out the Doxy Die Cast I was always left asking myself “would I pay the extra money to have this version if I could”? And I think, after much use, the answer is actually a firm yes.
There are, to my mind, enough features added to the Doxy Die Cast to make it both a unique toy and a worthy successor of the original Doxy. The change to a silicone head does a surprising amount to the sensation of the vibrations and leaves me confident in the build quality. Meanwhile the metal handle makes me feel like I and using something substantial; I feel like I’m wielding a majestic climax-bringer and that’s just awesome.
With such enormous power the Doxy Die Cast will not be for everyone, and some people will be happy with (or perhaps even prefer) the original Doxy. However I think that the Doxy Die Cast provides a valuable contribution to the world of wands and my orgasms are certainly richer for its creation.
