The BS Atelier Alex Dildo is a dream come true. Handcrafted in Spain and designed for G-spot stimulation, the Alex Dildo has never let me down and has always been satisfying to use. Put simply I adore this dildo and I’ll try and do my best to explain why.
BS Atelier
Before I go on to review my wonderful new dildo I want to say a few words about the fantastic company that made it. BS Atelier are shooting for finely crafted satisfaction; each product they make is designed, manufactured and distributed by the company. Not only this but BS Atelier make each item in-house, using traditional techniques.
BS Atelier rate aesthetics and “ergonomic potential” highly but also deeply value body safety. All of their products are made from silicone and any colour used comes from medical grade pigments.
Contacting BS Atelier was easy and they were very friendly. My dildo arrives promptly and was well packed.
If there’s anything that can be said about BS Atelier it’s that their site, product descriptions, and e-mail correspondences can sometimes contain broken English, but that’s a small detail really.
The BS Atelier Alex Dildo
BS Atelier provided me with the Alex Dildo in exchange for an honest review and it’s fair to say that I was jumping with joy from the moment it arrived. For those who don’t know I’m a huge art fan, so to receive a dildo spattered in stunning colours, like a cock-shaped canvas, was sincerely delightful.
I mean, seriously, this is right up there as one of the most beautiful toys I own and, because each BS Atelier product is handmade, there’s no other dildo like mine in the whole world. *squee*
Some people may wonder why I’m going nuts for aesthetics and my answer is because I believe that they sincerely matter. If you want a full explanation as to why the appearance of the toy can change one’s enjoyment of it then Ninjasexology has a great post that’s got you covered. But, to cut a long story short, if a toy looks sexy it has a higher chance of making its user feel sexy and, oh boy, is this one sexy looking dildo.
Because the Alex Dildo is made out of silicone It’s also body-safe (which is usually a must in my books), however the silicone isn’t necessarily the softest out there. In fact the silicone used for the Alex Dildo is matte, grabby, and is generally a lint-magnet. Still even the best of toys has to have some flaws, and the Alex Dildo slicks up soon enough when lube is applied.
At only 6 inches in height and with a maximum circumference of 4 ½ inches (and an average of about 4 inches) the Alex Dildo might seem a bit petite at first. Indeed, when I first grasped it in my hand I considered it downright unsubstantial. However, like my beloved Coq-A-Teal, a lot of girth isn’t always necessary, and the Alex Dildo seemed perfectly designed to produce fantastic orgasms.
To be honest I also think that the size of the Alex Dildo also helps to make it more accessible for beginners—which is another plus. In addition to this the Alex Dildo is quite malleable (it can be doubled over so that the tip touches the base) while still retaining the right amount of firmness.
In use the Alex Dildo was almost too good to be true.G-spot orgasms have always been achievable with this dildo and the climaxes are truly wonderful—strong, long, and substantial. However, unlike many great G-spotting toys, I wouldn’t call the Alex Dildo a ‘beast’. This dildo does not have a large, bulbous, or extremely curved head. It does not keep constant, overwhelming pressure on the G-spot. It doesn’t even (necessarily) have quite a firm presence during use. And yet the Alex Dildo still has me reeling every time I use it. Why?
Well, I tend to think that its power might (in some ways) come from the absence of all of these traits. The Alex Dildo is not a beast; it has just enough of a curve to hit the G-spot and its head provides the gentle curvature needed to hit (but not press too firmly on) the G-spot. Because of this you get more of a lapping motion, as the Alex Dildo constantly makes rhythmic brushing motions against the G-spot.
Now a lot of this comes down to technique, I’ll admit that, but I’ve always found it relatively easy to the get Alex Dildo to work with me. I can wiggle it, keep it inserted and squeeze my muscles around it, or even thrust with it and still the Alex Dildo rewards me with an orgasm that is fantastic but not too overbearing. As much as I love my heavy-duty G-spotting toys, the Alex Dildo is a nice reprieve for when I don’t feel like putting so much pressure on my G-spot.
Wrapping my muscles around the Alex Dildo feels like it produces a reciprocal, tender vaginal hug, which is a sensation that I’ve come to crave on more than one occasion now.
Alas, even the Alex Dildo is not perfect and (as well as being a dust magnet) the Alex Dildo does have a few flaws.
Although I love the size of the Alex Dildo, some people may still find it too small (or maybe even too big) for them. If you have your doubts I’d still probably recommend you try this toy out—after all, I underestimated it too—but it’s understandable if you’d want to give this toy a miss because of its measurements.
The Alex Dildo does claim to be harness compatible but its small base might make it a bit awkward with some harnesses. Likewise experienced anal users might find that the base of the Alex Dildo is too small for safe use.
And, of course, if you’re looking for clitoral stimulation, then the Alex Dildo most likely isn’t going to be the toy for you. But, honestly, I’m grabbing at straws now because (at the end of the day) there’s very little wrong with the Alex Dildo outside of personal preference.
Final Thoughts
Overall I adored the Alex Dildo and I think it would make a great addition to many people’s toy box. If, like me, you’re a G-spot addict but would like a toy to fall back on when you want gentler stimulation then the Alex Dildo has you covered.
For me the Alex Dildo has proven itself to be an expert in the tender touch but still doesn’t fail to give a strong climax. I hope that it can provide this result for others too.
