Toy Review: The Jive By We-Vibe Silicone APP Controlled Wearable G-Spot Vibrator

I remember when We-Vibe used to excite me: When the idea of owning a We-Vibe toy was one of my toy goals, both professionally and personally.

I miss those days.

Recently We-Vibe have been much more…hit-and-miss and you never really know just what you’re going to get with them. So, when the Jive arrived I have to admit that I was more cautious than hopeful.

I guess this is a good thing in some regards: Going in with a more neutral approach is better than going in with the highest expectations possible, or already thinking so highly of the company that it might skew your views but, still, I can’t help but lament the deflated state of We-Vibe’s product roster.

But, in the rankings of We-Vibe toys, where does the Jive land? Let’s have a gander together, shall we?

The Jive By We-Vibe Silicone APP Controlled Wearable G-Spot Vibrator

The Jive By We-Vibe Silicone APP Controlled Wearable G-Spot Vibrator is We-Vibe’s wearable hands-free vibrator which is a G-Spot toy but with a little bit of added extra. Because the Jive by We-Vibe can be paired with the We-Connect™ app it can basically be independently controlled by a partner and used discreetly, either in the bedroom or in public settings (as long as those settings aren’t extremely quiet).

Is this toy a great hit or a sorrowful miss?

This app-based control also means that you could easily use the Jive solo without the hassle of having to constantly press a button, which may even be crucial for people who struggle with pushing buttons in a continual manner or when they’re ‘in the moment’ (either due to disabilities or other reasons).

What I will say about the We-Vibe Jive is that We-Vibe really have got their app control down. I’ve always found it to be reliable, it looks great, and I’ve never had any major connection issues. That being said, i’m not a fan, which is why I’m so happy that the retrieval neck of this toy has a control button right next to its magnetic charging point, to allow for control on the toy if you wish. This makes perfect sense and shows a nice amount of consideration from We-Vibe. Then again, We-Vibe is a great company so I expect no less there.

The Jive itself is ovular and is 1.25 inches in diameter. Its insertible section is 3.5 inches in length. As ovular toys go it takes a slimmer, more streamline approach to its design making it very easy to insert and great for clitoral use as well. In terms of external use I found that the Jive slid very nicely between my labia and met my clitoris quite comfortably. I could either lay the chunk of the body on my vulva for broad sensations or use the tapering starting point for a more pin-point approach.

Internally the size and shape of the Jive makes it pretty effective for G-Spot stimulation but I personally find that it’s made more for comfort than direct and persistent pressure. After all, this is a toy meant for long-term and discreet use should you wish it so it’s basically going for the comfort levels of a kegel exerciser.

In that manner the Jive is excellently designed as it was very comfortable during use and was easy to insert and remove, which is exactly what you’d want and hope for. Buuut, unfortunately this toy was perhaps a bit too good at it’s job because, at times, it feels so innocuous and non-direct that I barely even notice it at all…even when on max power!

Seriously, this toy was a grim disappointment in terms of effectiveness. The vibrations, although they feel similar to some of the We-Vibe greats, seem to be lacking in the depth and resonance of those toys and was lost in translation when applied to my genitals. Internally I found that pretty much any clitoral vibrator that I used pretty much stole the limelight from the Jive and made it so that I felt very little in terms of internal sensation.

This can sometimes happen but never really to the same extent as with the Jive. Whereas G-Spot toys are supposed to be complimentary this one was just kind of…there…any effort to try and make itself known seeming paltry at best.

I can only attribute this to a lack of depth and a shape that is ever-so-slightly too slim in design to really hit the G-Spot with any strong effort.

A shape like this isn’t target-based and sadly suffers as a result.

Still, the Jive is waterproof, rechargeable, comes with a storage bag, lubricant, and a 2 year warranty, which are all pluses if you still feel inclined to purchase the Jive. It may be a good option for those who want a remote toy but don’t want to feel a huge, rumbly power inside of themselves and are looking for something gentler. This can certainly offer a coy and tentative approach to any post-sex activities, which does have a certain appeal, especially if someone else controls the power.

The silicone used for the Jive also makes it non-porous, phthalate-free and completely body-safe. It doesn’t attract dust, is smooth and gloriously matte-like on the surface. It has a low power alert and each charge lasts about 90 minutes which is pretty reasonable.

Honestly, the many positive elements of the Jive make it a high quality toy, but all of these additional benefits won’t mean anything if you’re a power queen looking for a sure fire hit. For me, this was a clear miss.

Final Thoughts

The Jive’s name really couldn’t be more appropriate because the Jive does not jive with me at all.

I’m a fan of We-Vibe but that doesn’t change the fact that I really couldn’t get along with this product at all. I didn’t have a single orgasm despite multiple well-meaning efforts, and I’ve never had such an experience with a We-Vibe toy before.

That being said, this toy is objectively good in terms of quality, and not everyone will be seeking the resonance and depth that I want, nor a more targeted design.

Ultimately, I urge you to make up your own mind but this is one toy that I can’t personally recommend.
