Toy Review: Glassvibrations Devil’s Tongue Gold Glass Dildo

I have a soft spot for the hardness of glass. Unrelenting and distinct, yet smooth and near effortless to insert, glass has an appeal all its own. Not to mention most glass toys look absolutely gorgeous, even the tacky ones. The Devil’s Tongue is no exception.

Fueled by my recent tentacle-based escapades I was more than willing to try what the glass fantasy market had in store for me. It’s fair to say I wasn’t disappointed.

Elegant and practically flawless in appearance, the Glassvibrations Devil’s Tongue Gold Glass Dildo is a true work of art. It’s beautiful, practical and (most importantly) enjoyable.

However, with such a specific design it’s important for potential buyers to be aware of their preferences before taking the plunge with this toy.

The Devil’s Tongue definitely gives off an aura of luxury aided in no small part by its beautiful colouration. The deep gold of the Devil’s Tongue feels almost decadent in its aesthetics, leaving you assured of this toy’s high-quality design. If I were to fantasize about this toy it wouldn’t be a devil but, instead, a demon; one whose honeyed words are only matched in perfection by the amber undertones of their resplendent tongue. But I digress.

The Devil's Tongue looks phenomenal.
The Devil’s Tongue has a striking appearance.

The Devil’s Tongue is actually available in three colours: Red, Gold, and Zebra. While the red colouration is cheaper I feel like it can’t match the radiance of the golden colouration.

Regardless of which colour you choose the Devil’s Tongue is made out of sturdy borosilicate glass (similar to the kind used by Pyrex). This material is phthalate-free, completely non-porous and 100% body-safe. Glass toys also have the benefit of being extremely smooth, which makes them easier to insert. Most people find that they don’t need much lubricant at all when using glass toys. If you are going to use lube then there’s even more reasons to rejoice, as glass toys can be used with all kinds of lube—water based, silicone, and oil-based.

Despite the many benefits of glass it’s worth noting that glass is about as firm a material as you can get. The Devil’s Tongue isn’t too hefty in terms of weight, but its hard material does mean that every indentation, every single bit of texture that the toy possesses, can be felt. And, trust me, the Devil’s Tongue has a lot of texture.

The bottom side of the Devil's Tongue is smooth, but it's texture still shines through.

The bottom side of the Devil’s Tongue may be completely smooth but the top section is covered in notches. This means that there is the potential to feel a lot of sensation when using this toy, especially when thrusting it or rubbing it across your genitals.

This isn’t necessarily a bad thing—some people may adore this—but the Devil’s Tongue is certainly not for the faint hearted.

There is also one last aspect to glass toys that deserves a mention; namely their potential for temperature play. Glass retains heat very well so the Devil’s Tongue can be cooled or heated to accommodate a person’s preference.

In addition to its unique texture, the overall design of the Devil’s Tongue helps facilitate its unique sensations. The Devil’s Tongue looks and feels quite long—with a useable length of about 6 inches but an overall length of 8.5.

While the Devil’s Tongue starts at a fine tip (with a circumference just under 2 inches) it expands outwards to a maximum circumference of 4.75 inches. This might not seem like much to some but the Devil’s Tongue is quite narrow so most of its girth comes from width. This can definitely be felt during use.

The Devil's Tongue may feel girthy but most of it comes from width.

My experiences with the Devil’s Tongue were positive overall. Perhaps one of my favourite things to do with the Devil’s Tongue was to run it across my vulva as a build-up to penetration. The texture provided by the tongue does a very good job at stimulating the clitoris and labia and creates a delightfully ridged sensation.

Because the Devil’s Tongue does have such a tapered tip it is incredibly easy to insert and most people should be able to find a girth that satisfies them on the Tongue’s lengthy shaft. Personally I don’t insert the Devil’s Tongue to its fullest extent, because I like having the tip on my G-spot.

Once inside gentle thrusts allow the texture of the Devil’s Tongue to caress the vaginal opening (though I personally wasn’t too sensitive to it internally). Because of this toy’s rather pointed tip light thrusts are recommended over vigorous ones—which could cause some discomfort.

The most prominent sensation I feel when the Devil’s Tongue is inserted is its width. It’s kind of hard to describe but it feels kind of like being stretched but without the rounded, ‘full up’ sensation that you would expect. Instead the feeling of fullness is focused to the sides of the vagina, making for quite a surreal experience at first. I can feel the tip of the Devil’s Tongue but only really during orgasm. At that point the tip isn’t exactly uncomfortable nor is it necessarily amazing. It just kind of exists as an additional sensation during climax.

Orgasms with the Devil’s Tongue were always satisfying and rather specific—as the width was still an ongoing factor throughout. My orgasms with the Devil’s Tongue could be quite long but I’m not sure if this was because of the toy or my ever strengthening kegel muscles.

A little tip from me: After climaxing with the Devil’s Tongue take a little bit of time to slowly thrust it in and out. For me the rippling sensation of this toy’s texture gliding in-and-out of my entrance felt really fantastic after and orgasm. It’s a must-try.

The swirl of the Devil's Tongue makes for a useful handle during slow thrusts.

By this point in the review I’m hoping this toy’s features have become clear, because these also help inform the toy’s downsides.

If you dislike a toy that has a very pointy tip then the Devil’s Tongue is probably not for you. If you dislike the idea of feeling full up through width alone then it might also be wise to avoid this toy. And, of course, if you can’t stand texture then avoid the Devil’s Tongue like the plague.

Because this toy is glass all of these features are emphasised to the extreme and there’s really no way to avoid them. The toy itself revels in them, so if you’re thinking about buying this toy then you’d best be the type of person who celebrates these aspects too. If you are then the Devil’s Tongue will be a brilliant addition to your toy box, if not then you might need to think about whether or not this toy really meets your needs.

In terms of more generic downsides there is only one that I can think of. With so much texture the Devil’s Tongue does need to be cleaned thoroughly. However because this toy is glass it’s incredibly easy to clean. It also comes with a storage bag to keep it safe from dust.

Beyond that there’s really no other downsides to this lovely piece of glass.

Final Thoughts

Overall I really liked the Devil’s Tongue, though I’m inclined to call it an acquired taste more than a toy box must-have. For appreciators of glass, texture and size-variation the Devil’s Tongue can definitely offer ample temptation. However others might find it to be a fruit best admired from afar as opposed to sampled first-hand.

Personally I am incredibly happy to add it to my ever growing arsenal of sex toys. I can honestly say that no other toy that I own can replicate its particular sensations.
