#SoSS Roundup: A Cup of Caramel Mint Tea

This is part of the #SoSS series. If you’re unacquainted with this series then catch up here

The first #SoSS of the New Year. I’m so giddy.

I almost want to pull up a chair, grab a cup of caramel mint tea and be like ‘So how was your week?’, listening with enthusiasm before sharing how things have been for me too.

Speaking of which, the answer is ‘ Very well, thank you’.

I don’t know what it is about 2018 so far but I feel great – strong, empowered, and full of gratitude. I can’t explain it, except for the fact, of course, that I’m surrounded by so many amazing and inspiring individuals who leave me feeling energized every single day.

Share our Shit Saturday has amplified this: Whereas before I might have told myself that I was too busy to stop and read for my own enjoyment, I now see it as something that can help my fellow bloggers and continue to nourish our community. As such it’s become a priority in my mind, unifying relaxation with blogging and sex activism in the best way possible. But I’m rambling now.

What made me smile this week? Grab your hot drink and scroll for my shares.

Ridiculous arguments I’ve had with my boyfriend by Girl on the Net

Everyone know Girl on the Net and if you don’t then, oh boy, you’re going to love what you’re about to discover (pro-tip: her books are a must read).

But a person’s popularity is no barrier to the fact that their content is well worth sharing, and I really couldn’t resist showing you all this too-true little tidbit when it comes to relationships and the funny things we end up having barnies about.

Also, sorry GotN but I’ve got to agree with your boyfriend a bit here: I live in Devon. I often stay in London. You water tastes dreadful.

Fun fact though: According to the most recent research 3 to 4 cups of coffee a day can help reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases, helps prevent the development of prostate cancer, endometrial cancer,melanoma,non-melanoma skin cancer, and liver cancer, and can improve many other conditions, including type 2 diabetes.

So, filtered or unfiltered, you’re probably both doing yourself some good there.

Pleaser Dice 616 Black Rhinestone Embelished Casino Themed Heels by Joanne’s Reviews

This post has everything I love, and I do mean everything.

A story to go along with the review? Check!

Dice to fulfill my geeky side? Check!

One amazing set of heels from Leather and Lace? Oh yes!

An extensive and character-infused appraisal? As if I need to ask!

Much like Joanne, I struggle to justify the cost of heels because, damn, I’m pretty sure I’d have all the grace of a newborn giraffe. But after reading Joanne’s review all I can think is ‘By the forest gods, let those shoes be vegan’.

Oh, and that’s not to mention the suave and sexy Bond-like element running throughout this review.

I finished this review with a big grin on my face and a deep desire in my chest – the mark of a great review of a pleasurable product.

8 Commitments Sex Toy Companies Can Make in 2018 by Formidable Femme

This post came out on Sat 30 Dec, meaning it juuust missed the cut for my last #SoSS but it sure as sharing shit deserves a place in this initiative!

I mentioned some of my adult industry aspirations in my own post, one of which was for companies to become more in line with the desires of the sex positive movement (and other forms of sex, gender & relationship activism).

Formidable Femme’s post is an on point expansion of some of the ways companies might achieve this, as documented by someone who is a front-line, no-nonsense, bad-ass baguette-loving activist (an all-around awesome individual).

If you’re a company you need to read this. If you’re not, you need to read this and then take action to let companies know what you would like to see from them.

Power comes with numbers. If we’re all shooting for a strong goal then we can achieve change. Formidable Femme’s post almost reads like a manifesto of ‘fuck yeah’ and I can’t recommend it enough.

My Favorite Blogging Tools by Dangerous Lilly

Do you have aspirations to start your own adult blog this year? Or perhaps you just want to get blog and social media savvy in general?

This is the post for you.

I wouldn’t call this a relaxing read, but it was a fascinating one.

Soaking in Lilly’s knowledge (kindly shared), I found myself actually leaning forward in my seat to get closer to my laptop as if it would somehow help me take in more knowledge.

Seat-lean or not, I’m sure that aspiring bloggers with find this post invaluable. I personally learnt a lot from it!

Bijoux Indiscrets Maze Tassel Choker Review by Candy Snatch

It’s a vegan review guys. A vegan review! Is there a better thing is this word?

…Okay…vegan food comes pretty close…but, still, I am always thrilled when I see another vegan product review out there, especially when it comes from a reviewer that I personally have an extreme amount of enthusiasm for.

Candy Snatch does an excellent job at giving an eloquent and extensive appraisal of this particular product, complete with the gorgeous photos that I have come to attribute as part of the ‘candy package’ (and, yes, it’s these photos are just as sweet & sinful as candy itself).

Plus there’s this paragraph, which is just perfection to my mind:

There is something slightly magical about a vegan product with the evocative scents of suede and leather and I’m bewitched before I even open the paper.

So much love.

And that’s all for this week!

However, Candy’s review does remind me to ask you this – who is trying Veganuary this year? If you haven’t started yet then, don’t worry – you can start whenever is best for you – plus I’ll be online to help you with daily vegan posts from my new ‘SFW’ site, The Kind Peach.

Until the next #SoSS, this Peach is off for a teafill.
