Toy Review: The Sola Hop Triple-Stimulating Silicone Rechargeable Rabbit Vibrator

What’s better than two motors in a sex toy?

Three motors!

…Or is it?

Sola decided to test the theory in one of their most recent releases, the Sola Hop Triple-Stimulating Silicone Rechargeable Rabbit Vibrator.

The Sola Hop is part of a larger launch by Sola and it’s worth commending them for the entire range. The vibrations in these toys deliver, the prices are as is expected for ‘luxury’ toys, and the designs are never dull, the Sola Hop being a prime example of this.

The Sola Hop Triple-Stimulating Silicone Rechargeable Rabbit Vibrator

This quirky vibrator takes the ‘rabbit vibrator’ design premise and expands it, by getting rid of the typical clitoral bunny’s bullet body and instead just opting for two rabbit ear-like prongs instead.

This rabbit has a bit of a difference.

The premise here being that the Sola Hop can naturally massage the labia majora or positioned so that they touch upon the clitoris (most people’s go-to for pleasure when the vulva in involved).

These ears are about 2.5 inches in length, with the insertible length of the shaft coming in at 5 inches. The overall length is 8.25 inches and the maximum diameters for this toy come in at 1.7 inches for the shaft and roughly 0.6 inches for the external prongs.

The Sola Hop has many of the benefits you’d expect from a luxury vibrator, which retails at $90.00 at Peepshowtoys.

This vibrator is rechargeable via magnetic clip, and a single charge will give you about 1 hour worth of play time. It’s waterproof, comes with its own lint-free and antibacterally treated storage bag, and comes with a reassuring 5 year warranty.

Knowing the Sola team (as of this review), I can vouch for Sola’s excellent customer service and reliability, so I know you’d be in safe hands if you ever decided to contact them directly.

The Sola Hop is also made of dust-resistant, silky smooth, velvety silicone, which is not unsurprising nowadays but is still appreciated. Stroking the Sola Hop is like caressing an orchid’s surface – with the peculiar design of this toy adding to any initial sense of wonderment that you might feel when first unboxing it. Oh, and the cardboard box it comes in is sturdy, well-designed, and can probably even be upcycled after use to make a practical storage space.

The Hop’s shaft is up to task.

The Sola Hop has 5 different vibration speeds and 5 different patterns, for a total of 10, and is controlled by 2 buttons at the shaft. I did, at times, find this system to be a bit irksome and was even left bemused by it at first, but those moments are exactly what toy manuals are for. And ‘bemused’ was pretty much my overall sentiment when first using this toy.

First, the positives: The length of this toy’s external prongs mean that it is one of the rare examples of a rabbit that provides the length and comfort levels that my body requires. One jubilant ‘Huzzah!’ well-deserved in this regard – it is, sadly, quite a rare occurrence.

I am also quite the fan of the two-pronged design. Indirect clitoral stimulation is something I often go for, which is another reason rabbits frustrate me – they tend to like to go for direct action whereas I’m like ‘baby, at least caress the edges first’. And the Sola Hop caresses in a most pleasing manner, giving me an echoing of sensation from either side before I decide to guide both ears closer to my clit on my own terms.

The shaft of the Sola Hop is also a winner: beautifully curved and bulging in all the places it needs to. My G-Spot orgasms with the Sola Hop are gratifying. They give me everything I want and last for a reasonable amount of time – not phenomenal but most agreeable. It’s a shame the clitoral vibrations aren’t.

Back to the shaft for a moment: it’s vibrations are outstanding. Strong, rumbly, and impressively strong (stronger than many equally priced competitors) they satisfy me in a similar way that wands do. They can be used clitorally or internally and they shine in both instances. External use really does feel like I’ve got a wand to hand on the higher settings, and I’m never disappointed by it. Internally the Sola Hop knows just how to work the vaginal walls to prompt out its (often swiftly delivered) climax.

This doesn’t make me hopping mad, but it does disappoint me.

But I just can’t say the same about the external prongs. To me they felt buzzier, weaker, and were a jarring distraction from the vibrations the shaft produced. All the best multiple-motor toys know how to harmonize their motors to reverberate in a brilliant orchestra of vibrational glee. The Sola Hop just leaves me wishing the prongs either weren’t there (a-la the Sola Cue) or had a rumbly and melodious nature that worked with its internal vibrations as opposed to buzzing against them (much like a fly humming around an otherwise very pleasant meal).

This is, by far, the biggest downside of this toy for me and it’s one that not everyone will share.

Much more relatable would be the noise levels of this toy (not ‘whisper quiet’ as advertised, though good for use through thick doors, or with music), and the incapacity to use this toy completely ‘hands-free’ if going direct for the clit is your go-to method of using a rabbit-style vibrator.

But these issues are minimal and more factors than fundamental flaws of the toy. The Sola Hop itself delivers on most of the things it sets out to achieve, it just doesn’t have the final oomph needed to satisfy this clitoral power queen.

Final Thoughts

Given all this, would I recommend the Sola Hop?

Yes, but only to those who have never really found that they need their clitoral vibrations to be rumbly and strong.

Some may even prefer (or, at the very least, expect) the external vibrations offered they the Sola Hop, and will happily incorporate them in to their usage. But this is something personal preferences will dictate and not my own disappointment for the quivering limitations of this toy’s bunny ears.

The Sola Hop is well-made, wonderfully designed, and had perks to spare. I do hope that it finds its audience and offers a lot of people many happy evenings.
