Toy Review: The Tantus Vamp Super Soft

My very first Tantus dildo (my very first realistic dildo, for that matter) was the Tantus Vamp.

I had, until that point, avoided toys that resembled a penis in my mind. But being a sex toy reviewer means being open to all sorts of experiences and, as it happens, the Tantus Vamp ended up opening my mind (and vagina) to the amazing world of Tantus toys. I also described it as ‘change-my-view-on-realistic-looking-toys good’ which, at the time, was a very big thing.

More than this, my first Tantus also had a slight imperfection which meant I required a replacement and I soon found myself going from a less refined version of the Vamp to a newer model, allowing for one of my earliest compare & contrast review posts.

My point being that I am well-acquainted with the intricacies of the Vamp. I know its form well, and I often return to it (alongside the Tantus Bound) when I don’t have a tester to fill myself with. So, when the Tantus Vamp Super Soft arrived it was almost like greeting an old friend after a long time apart from each other. Only this friend had softened over the years in the best way possible.

The Tantus Vamp Super Soft

The Tantus Vamp Super Soft is part of a new venture by Tantus to take some of their most popular designs and make them more accessible for those new to sex toys and, in the case of the Vamp it was sorely needed.

The Tantus Vamp Super Soft isn’t squishy but it is sensational.

I love my Vamps. Completely adore them. But I also can’t ignore their extreme firmness. It’s actually part of what I love about the toys—their extreme firmness makes it so that every detail seems as if it is literally sinking its teeth in to your flesh with a biting precision. All puns intended.

This is great but it’s not for everyone. It’s not even for me sometimes. The Tantus Vamp is one of the firmest silicone toys that I own and, as a result, feels like one of the largest and most particular—an acquired taste.

In comparison the Tantus Vamp Super Soft brings the bulging head, arching coronal ridge, and signature glisten of this line of dildos but it adds a squish that makes it more forgiving and blunt when inserted in to the body.

Its silicone is matte to the touch and lubricates well. It’s also (as all high-quality silicone is) non-porous, phthalate-free, and completely body-safe. It is not super soft. At least not compared to something from Bad Dragon, or a ‘real feel’ toy, and definitely nothing like truly squishy toys such as the Vixen Creation line.

Yes to this coronal ridge (no to the dust and hair grabbing).

This will be points against the Tantus Vamp Super Soft for some. ‘Super soft’ is a stretching definition for a toy that is bendable and has some squish to it but would hardly be described as ‘squidgy’ nor ‘plush’. So please do keep this in mind before you purchase the Tantus Vamp Super Soft hoping for silicone akin to a stress ball only to find yourself greeted with a much more conventional sensation.

The silicone of the Tantus Vamp Super Soft is still incredibly soft compared to the original, though, and this does make it much more accommodating and available for general use.

I don’t need to crave a rigid toy to use the Tantus Vamp Super Soft. All I need to do is prep myself for its 1.75 max diameter, lube it up generously (with water-based lube, as my standard), and then begin to ease its total of 7-inch length inside of me (well, close enough, as some of that isn’t insertable).

Inserted, the Tantus Vamp Super Soft feels like the Vamp—filling, persistent against the G-Spot, engulfing—but it also has a blunt forgiveness to its form, which feels at once both kinder and more overwhelming.

Orgasms with this toy do not take long at all. It’s simply too good at lingering on my G-Spot. It hardly needs a nudge or a motion. Clenching suffices to give this toy’s girthy coronal ridge all the assistance it needs to demonstrate its softer prowess. When I do tip over the edge with the Tantus Vamp Super Soft then the orgasms are always strong, rapturously so. They prompt me to bring fantasies in to the mix—different scenarios as to how this filling form has brought me to such a prolonged sensation. These fantasies rarely involve a vampire, but that’s irrelevant.

This shaft isn’t the most ‘natural-looking’ on the market, but it exaggerates the aspects that matter.

Lubricant is an absolute must with this dildo, especially when attempting anal. The Tantus Vamp Super Soft has a flared base, so it is acceptable for anal use but it is not a beginners toy in this regard and it will require a lot of lubricant.

The flared base of the Tantus Vamp Super Soft also makes it compatible for use with a harness, but I don’t think that thrusting is this toy’s strength. Granted, it’s straight as an arrow, so there’s nothing to stop you, but its softer silicone is draggy and its head chunky, which doesn’t necessarily lend to rapid thrusts.

Now, if you’re a lover of long, sweeping, slow thrusts then the Tantus Vamp Super Soft may be your new silicone BFF, but that’s not something I have much experience with.

Probably my only big strike against the Tantus Vamp Super Soft is that it doesn’t have a suction cup base. Not only do suction cup bases usually end up more comfortably when used with a harness, but this is a vampire toy. C’mon. It was practically asking to suck in some way! And, given the overall quality of the Tantus Vamp Super Soft, a suction cup would have probably been its only way to do this.

The silicone also gathers dust and grime quite easily—more of an issue when you have lots of pets (as I do) but not as big a concern given just how easy the Tantus Vamp Super Soft is to clean. Water, soap, scrub, done. Or dishwasher, done. Or boil and done, This is some very durable silicone and it wants to work with you in any way it can.

Final Thoughts

Trust a vampire to be an absolute charmer, possessing all of the allure and potency of its namesake while also softening kindly to those who just couldn’t bear its original bite.

The Tantus Vamp Super Soft is the perfect order if you’re a fan of straight dilldos with a good coronal ridge but just can’t handle extremely rigid toys. In such instances the Tantus Vamp Super Soft really is a romance-inducing dildo at times, and mine has hypnotized me throughout many a sleepless night.

But, if you’re expecting a squishy, plush-esque silicone experience then the Tantus Vamp Super Soft will not meet your needs. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
