Toy Review: The So Divine ‘Lovesexy’ Silky Touch Vibrator

‘Enjoy the mystery of the smooth operator’ is the tagline that So Divine have opted to go for when it comes to the So Divine ‘Lovesexy’ Silky Touch Vibrator and, although this toy isn’t exactly a mystery, it is a rather smooth experience.

This is perhaps a bit of an oxymoron, too—as the So Divine ‘Lovesexy’ Silky Touch Vibrator’s main draw is the fact that it sports a removable silicone sleeve with various different textures on it. Bumps, ridges and stretched out ovals adorn the surface of this 3.7 inch bullet/vibrator hybrid, working to allow its user an exploration in to a variety of different sensations.

Perhaps this is where the mystery lies for some; the So Divine ‘Lovesexy’ Silky Touch Vibrator has a nice variation of textures and is perhaps the closest toy you could get towards a ‘beginners’ one or, to be more accurate, a gentle provider.

This sex toy will not rock the world of sex toy veterans and lovers of strength, but it may provide an ample amount of oomph for those who take a timid approach to sex toys.

The So Divine ‘Lovesexy’ Silky Touch Vibrator

The So Divine ‘Lovesexy’ Silky Touch is an incredibly affordable vibrator (£15.99 at RRP) which seems designed to give people a chance to dip their toes into both texture and vibrations, perhaps for the first time.

In addition to being marketed as mysterious and smooth this vibrator is also pitched as ‘Soft but strong. Petite yet powerful’ but I would consider this to be a bit of an overstatement. The So Divine ‘Lovesexy’ Silky Touch can be outperformed by many bullets of similar size in terms of sheer power and its strengths (of which there are quite a few) really do lie elsewhere.

This vibrator is very well priced and a great introduction to texture and tingle.

This vibrator has an overall length of 3.7 inches (as mentioned above) and a diameter of 0.9 inches, making it petite, discreet and generally easy to tuck away, hidden from prying eyes. It pitches itself as being quiet and discreet and, yeah, I agree with this appraisal.

There’s no mistaking what this product is, but it’s so small that you’ll probably find somewhere to tuck it away with relative ease. Its vibrations are also impressively quiet—not necessarily a whisper but definitely a gentle hum which you’d struggle to detect under a thick set of sheets (especially if music was playing or doors were involved too). This does give the So Divine ‘Lovesexy’ Silky Touch a certain introductory element, which is further asserted by its price, ease of use, and vibrations.

Really you cannot get a simpler toy to control than the So Divine ‘Lovesexy’ Silky Touch. A single button filters you through its 3 different intensities and 7 additional patters. This range of vibrations should satisfy most pattern-lovers and gives those new to patterns a clear spectrum with which to experiment.

I also have to hold my hands up and admit that I did like some of the patterns on offer. I even lingered on some and allowed them to tantalize by labia and clitoris with their gentle quivering ebb and flow, which I would consider to be a success considering my intense dislike of patterns in most other situations.

Size-wise this toy is petite but may still be used as an insertable (non anally) by some.

I believe this was facilitated by the nature of this toy’s vibrations—which don’t necessarily buzz, nor perceptibly rumble, instead preferring to rapidly shudder like Ariel standing on new legs for the first time. The newness of this toy is an inescapable aspect of it, it seems, and I am constantly given a sense of comfort and smooth reassurance from it as it moves from a delicate purr to a mid-level quiver. It never quite gets beyond the surface of my skin, reaching to that deep clitoral zone that I so often like to rumble, but it lingers in enough of a manner to bring me a tempting satisfaction.

Alas, tempting is the limit of this vibrator for me, as my wand-loving labia and rumble-craving clit ask for more from this toy than it was ever made to offer, but that’s okay, because this toy is not for the power pros (no matter what some might hope to believe). And, really, a vibrator that uses 1-AA batteries (supplied) can only ever do so much.

But the vibrations from the So Divine ‘Lovesexy’ Silky Touch are nice for what they are and its texture provides a provocative caress which never feels uncomfortable or abrasive, even without lubricant. Add some lube and slide it over your body and suddenly you’ll find yourself exploring at least three different types of texture which will help you decide if it’s for you going forward.

Furthermore those who like (or need) smaller insertables and want to dabble with internal pleasure may also find the So Divine ‘Lovesexy’ Silky Touch to be an invaluable tool for them. I could definitely imagine it helping a bold vaginismus sufferer and promoting further recovery as one’s personal preferences and sexual desire are explored more. If this applies to you then I recommend that you master dilators that are at least one measurement above this vibrator before trying to use it, as the texture may shock you if you try to use it as something to build up to.

The So Divine ‘Lovesexy’ Silky Touch is made from ABS plastic and is submersible when its battery cap is properly secured, but this toy doesn’t feel rigid at all. This is due to the silicone sleeve that it sports—which is soft, smooth, and almost velvety to the touch. When inserting the batteries for this toy you will need to pull the sleeve back a bit but this is easy enough to do.

As a con this also means that gunk and bodily fluids can slip under the sleeve of the So Divine ‘Lovesexy’ Silky Touch so you’ll want to be vigilant when cleaning it. And, if you were truly expecting a powerful toy with this product (or even something comparable in power to toys of a similar size) then I am sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

But not all toys will appeal to all individuals, and that’s fine. I’m happy with what the So Divine ‘Lovesexy’ Silky Touch has to offer overall and can see the value of its existence.

Final Thoughts

In an industry that is typically pushing for the next innovation in horsepower, it’s nice to see a vibrator that prefers to take a smoother approach in refining the gentle vibrations that it offers and then adding a bit of texture for good measure.

If you do want a stronger vibe then I recommend looking at So Divine’s rechargeable products, but those tend to be larger in most instances. I think in this case it’s much more prudent to accept this toy on its own terms and simply determine whether it meets the mark for you or not.

If you’ve read this review and you see the appeal then I feel like its price justifies a purchase. If not then you may want to invest in your orgasms via a different product.
