Toy Review: The Partner Vibrator for Couples

Monogamous relationships are a funny thing. By all accounts mainstream modern monogamy (that is, to say, social as well as sexual monogamy) has only been the prevalent paradigm in the west for a few hundred years at most and represent a strange cobbling together of two people for various cultural, social, romantic, and financial reasons.

That’s not to say that I dislike monogamy (in fact I describe myself as ‘ridiculously monogamous’ on a regular basis) but it is curious when you reflect on it. Two people with differing interests, preferences, and biological urges come together and commit to each other wholly—working to shape their lives around each other and communicate and compromise to find the perfect balance for them. It’s something I personally love, but it’s not without its downfalls and it’s certainly not a good fit for everyone.

How perfectly fitting, then, that couples’ toys often work as an analogy for the very monogamous relationships that they function within. Often made to be used by both individuals at once (and typically inserted) a couples’ toy tries to find the balance between two peoples sexual preferences, body type, and personal kinks. And, much like finding the ideal relationship, finding the ideal couples’ toy is no easy task. Often there is a lot of compromise and more than a little risk involved (heyo to continuing parallels).

Still, many people crave a joint intimacy through sex toys and so couples’ sex toys persist—attempting to fill a (literal) gap in the adult product market. The Partner Vibrator for Couples is one of the newer attempts on the market and comes from the same people who made the Satisfyer Pro 2.

If you know anything about the Satisfyer Pro 2 then you’re probably aware that it is deeply, immensely satisfying. So how does the Partner Vibrator compare? Read on to find out!

My Partner Vibrator was provided by Peepshowtoys in exchange for an honest review.

Sex toys are fantastic and Peepshowtoys truly champions this notion. Their own collections of wonderfully selected sex toys are beautifully arranged to make shopping with them a highly enjoyable and very secure experience. Peepshowtoys has also invited trusted sex bloggers such as myself to curate our own collections—essentially allowing their customers to view the recommendations of a variety of individuals.

This focus on sex education, sex positivity, and an open exchange when it comes to sexual preferences is all part of what makes Peepshowtoys a fantastic company to but from and work with. I highly recommend Peepshowtoys and feel like their values align strongly with the sex positivity movement. Anyone who rallies behind that call is a-okay with me!

The Partner Vibrator for Couples

The Partner Vibrator for Couples is perhaps one of the most affordable couples’ vibrators of its kind and represents a relatively recent trend in insertable vibrators that are made to stimulate two people simultaneously. Of course, one of the limitations of such a sex toy is that they’re generally focused on PiV sex (and this is the way in which I tested the Partner Vibrator) but faulting the Partner Vibrator on this would be like criticizing a clitoral vibrator for focusing on the clitoris—it’s simply what the toy is made for.

This vibrator has no storage bag but comes in a sturdy box.

In this instance (as with most couples’ vibrators) the Partner Vibrator for Couples has an internal prong meant to be inserted (and to stimulate the penis) and an external prong which sits on the vulva and stimulates the clitoris.

Unlike quite a few couples’ vibrators on the market, the Partner Vibrator does not have two motors, and only vibrates externally. This keeps costs down but it also means that those with a penis may find the Partner Vibrator slightly less appealing. Granted, there is a small amount of transference when it comes to the vibrations but you can’t expect the Partner Vibrator to deliver the same oomph as something like the We-Vibe Sync might.

One of the things that struck me as immediately appealing about the Partner Vibrator was just how slim and flexible its internal prong is. Usually confronted with rather chunky internal prongs, it was nice to see a couples’ vibrator that offered a petite alternative—measuring at a mere 2.75 inches of insertable length and with a maximum width of 1 inches internally. This makes the Partner Vibrator an appealing choice for anyone who likes the idea of an internal couples’ vibrator but finds the size of most internal prongs to be daunting (or simply incompatible with their body). The external prong is equally rather slim, allowing it to nuzzle in to place for most people.

This is one of the slimmest couples' vibrators I have tried.

The main body of the Partner Vibrator is made of silky smooth matte silicone, which is non-porous, phthalate-free, and completely body-safe. This silicone doesn’t collect dust or lint and feels rather nice against the skin. It lubricates well (without ever feeling frustratingly slippery) and doesn’t provide excessive drag when being guided on to the G-Spot.

I say ‘guided’ because that’s the very sensation that you get internally with the Partner Vibrator—a rolling beckon, propelled by the penis thrusting in and out of the body. The back-and-fourth motion of someone thrusting while the Partner Vibrator is inserted combined with the firm and flexible arm definitely creates something more akin to a come-hither motion rather than a thrust or a wiggle. For me this periodic pressure was incredibly pleasurable (and surprisingly persistent in the amount of sensation it provided) and I feel like anyone who enjoys the application of being ‘finger fucked’ may also like the Partner Vibrator.

In terms of additional luxury perks the Partner Vibrator is waterproof (though I’d never recommend using it in a bath) and USB rechargeable. A 2 hour charge will get you about 65 minutes of play, which isn’t fantastic but, hey, with such an affordable price tag compromises have to be made somewhere.

Vibration-wise the Partner Vibrator provides what I consider to be adequate vibrations for what it is. I’ve never been one for intense direct clitoral stimulation so when a vibrator is positioned in a place where your partner’s public bone can literally shove it right up against your clit I’m not looking for full power. As such the mid-range buzz-rumble of the Partner Vibrator works well with my body. It is a wonderful addition to penetration which adds enough clitoral stimulation to make internal orgasms possible (a rarity for me) without ever feeling too overwhelming or distracting.

The external prong sat comfortably on my vulva and nuzzled nicely in between my labia. I have yet to find a couples’ vibrator that I feel is 100% completely, utterly, and consistently hands-free, but the Partner Vibrator comes closer than most. I still need to hold it and I’ve still had it slip out when trying to let it go Han(d)s Solo but there have been moments where I’ve felt confident in letting it go for at least a while as I reposition my legs or otherwise caress my own body for personal pleasure.

Despite making a good attempt this vibrator still doesn't stay in unassisted.

Personally I really liked the Partner Vibrator, and found its slim physique to be a really good fit with my body. I had never really realized just how bulky other internal toys could feel until having sex with the Partner Vibrator, and yet this vibrator still manages to offer me all of the internal stimulation I could desire. It doesn’t work well for every position (it fails miserably at cowgirl, for example) but it worked with enough of my favourites to make it a worthwhile investment, from my perspective at least.

This was not the case for Mr Peaches.

When it came to Mr Peaches the Partner Vibrator was the antithesis of what he wanted in a couples’ vibrator. It chaffed against his shaft at the best of times and caused actual physical yelps and cringes of pain during the worst. When it came to our first (and only) attempt at cowgirl as soon as I lowered down he grimaced followed by a quick and increasingly loud “Nope, nope, nope, get off!”…yeah, not ideal.

And this is perhaps the biggest downside to couples’ vibrators. Everybody is different, no toy will fit all bodies and when you add two bodies in to the mix you risk not just one person disliking it but both—or, as in our case, one person really liking it while the other would rather stay as far away from it as possible.

Sadly because couples’ vibrators are so unique it’s often hard to tell where you and your partner will fit on the spectrum when it comes to your own bodies. However, as the It’s good to communicate so I’m glad you’re having those conversations so early. Sounds like things are going really well. Partner Vibrator has a rather slim internal prong you could probably get a rather good initial indication by one person sliding their little finger in to the vagina and then  inserting and thrusting with the penis. This won’t completely replicate the sensation of the Partner Vibrator but it does allow you a good gauge of what feels good before committing to a $49.99 sex toy.

That being said, at $49.99 the Partner Vibrator really is one of the most financially accessible on the market and is, therefore, the best to try if you’re interested in couples’ vibrators but have never dabbled in them before. Because of its slimmer form its generally more accommodating too, even if it won’t work with everyone. All-in-all it’s a rather good choice if you really do feel like attempting to enjoy joint pleasure through a single sex toy.

Final Thoughts

The Partner Vibrator is not perfect but it does, to my mind, offer the best option when it comes to couples’ vibrators and exploration.

This is a sex toy that still feels like a high-quality, long-term luxury investment but doesn’t come with the huge price tag of some of its contenders. It’s certainly no Satisfyer Pro 2 but it does mirror the Pro 2 in terms of making a rather niche sexual experience more accessible and for that I can admire the Partner Vibrator (even if it’s sadly not the right fit for us).

Recommend to:

People wanting to try an internal couples’ toy.

People on a budget.

People who want a slimmer internal prong.

Do Not Recommend to:

People who prefer individual toys.

People who need a lot of power.

People who want some texture on the internal prong (it has none).
