Last week I discovered a ceramic sampling that was a near-perfect fit for my body—the Evermore. The Evermore is a toy that I will always admire. A week on I stand by every word I wrote and I have no doubt that this will be the case forever more.

The downside to this is that the proceeding dildo had some very large boots to fill.

Thankfully for the Saurian its namesake is known for leaving some pretty big footprints.

The Saurian is one relic that is well worth reviving.

‘Saurian’ as a term is another name for anything ‘of or like a lizard’. Or, more specifically, a dinosaur. In the Victorian period Saurian was actually the term of choice when talking about what we now call dinosaurs, so consider this labeling to be me letting my inner Victorianist shine through.

It is my hope that my reasoning behind this name is immediately apparent too (that or I’m some kind of dinosaur/Victorian/sex-geek hybrid who really shouldn’t be given naming responsibilities).

When looking at this dildo I think of the earthy, molten depths to which dinosaurs were condemned by the passage of time. I think of the long, lean neck of the Diplodocus, the bumpy head of the Pachycephalosaurus, the ridged back of the Ankylosaurus, and the commanding presence of the Tyrannosaurus Rex.

I can't help but think 'Saurian' when I see this dildo.

This is a dildo that stands out from the crowd. It distinguishes itself through an array of texture and promises a roaring time that is so primal it’s downright prehistoric.

Like the Evermore, the Saurian may give people pause for thought with its straight shaft, but some toys are better straight-shafted and highly textured ones certainly fall in to this category. This is especially the case with the Saurian—as its brilliant array of different textures really does come to life when being rapidly thrusted, wiggled or swirled.

If this is what we get with the return of the dinosaurs, then I understand why I was such a fan of the movie We’re Back as a child.

Another smile from the Saurian and I in kind.

The Saurian is a rather slim toy, but I don’t feel like this detracts from the effectiveness of its texture. The bumps and ridges are easy to notice during use and, although not individually distinguishable, they work brilliantly to massage the vaginal walls and to provoke them in to providing pulsating pleasure, as they clasp around the surface of this toy’s glossy shaft.

Ceramic can be easily heated and cooled, but I like the Saurian as it comes—chilled with a hint of the oncoming winter creeping in to its surface temperature. This excites my vaginal walls and makes the texture feel more defined. A similar effect can be provided by cooling the Saurian but I personally find this to make the texture a tad too distracting. As it stands the Saurian is more than capable of getting me to orgasm swiftly and in rapid succession. Chilled or heated it is not as effective for me—I’m too captivated by the base brilliance of this artisan creation.

The Saurian also has a nice amount of length to it (just under 10 inches), making it yet another brilliant toy for partnered use or thrusting. The downside to this is that there are inches of texture that I can see but not personally reach—like a tease of my own limits. But this doesn’t bother me…much. No two people are the same and some will find themselves doing a very deep archaeological excavation with the Saurian. I am simply not one of those individuals.

There's a lot of potential here that I'm not tapping in to.

When it comes to my personal preferences and the quality or orgasm I personally rank the Evermore and the Saurian on equal footing but for different reasons, and it is in these differences that you might best clarify which toy is the right one for you.

If you like very pronounced, ridges texture which feels similar to a coronal ridge and has a girthiness to it then I would select the Evermore.

If, on the other hand, you are a lover of length, lean dildos (4.25 inches max circumference), and/or varied and very prominent texture then the Saurian is a clear winner.

Either way I am endlessly impressed by the quality of the Saurian and the Evermore and consider them to be perfect demonstrations of the sexual brilliance that can only be achieved through creativity and bold experimentation.

Unlike the dinosaurs, the Saurian will no doubt be around for a long time to come.

Recommend to:

People who like texture.

People who like leaner dildos.

People who like thrusting.

Do Not Recommend to:

People who prefer more prominent/no texture.

People who need a curve.

People who dislike unused length.

I am not a fan of straight dildos, but I also have never tried one with as much texture. This is a beautiful toy! I love reviews where I learn about the toy and something else. Lol. I didn’t know Saurian meant dinosaur or that Victorians had a different word for dinosaur!

    • It’s just gorgeous, isn’t it?
Yes! A lot of terms have changed over the years. Giraffes used to be commonly called Camel Leopards (and their latin name is actually Camelopardalis).
