When I think of Lelo a few iconic toys immediately spring to mind. The first is, of course, the Lelo Mona 2 (or its updated Mona Wave, equipped with a ‘come hither’ motion), then my beloved Lelo Smart Wand Large, The Lelo Luna Beads, the Lelo Mia 2, and, last but certainly not least, the Lelo Gigi 2. Considering this it is perhaps a huge oversight on my part that I have not reviewed this product sooner. After all, very few toys rival the Lelo Gigi 2 when it comes to reviews as an outstanding G-Spotting vibrator.
I suppose it was my experience with the Lelo Liv 2 which left me a bit jaded when approaching the Gigi 2. If these toys were similar and I didn’t like the Liv 2 then could the Lelo Gigi 2 really win me over?
Yes. Yes. Oh god yes!
The Lelo Gigi 2’s reputation really is well-earned, as this petite G-Spotting vibe offers an impressive amount of power and enough G-Spotting precision to assist most people when it comes to getting further acquainted with their anatomy. In fact, much like the Lelo Ella and the Lelo Siri, I would consider this to be one of those foundational products which I would happily recommend to the sex toy newbie in order to help them shape the most pleasurable sexual journey that their body could muster.
If discovering one’s preferences is an ongoing journey then the Lelo Gigi 2 is like a small, comforting inn along the road, with more than a few adventures waiting inside…
The Lelo Gigi 2
The Lelo Gigi 2 is a revamped version of Lelo’s Gigi—a toy so popular that, much like the Mona 2 and Siri 2 it got a reprised edition with more power and a few more luxury benefits. Having never tried the original Lelo Gigi I can’t offer a comparison, but the Gigi 2 has been a fixture at Lelo for so long now that it will be the model you are most likely to encounter. In fact, if you go in to a store and don’t see a Lelo Gigi 2 in the Lelo display section then you have my permission to shake your head in mild disappointment.
As you can tell, I speak quite highly about this toy, and that’s because I truly believe that the Lelo Gigi 2 has a diverse appeal. It’s G-Spotting curve and wonderfully flat-headed tip is effective enough to impress most sex toy veterans while also not being so drastic as to scare off the less experienced. Its 6.5 inch length and 1.38 inch diameter is small enough to, again, appeal to those just beginning to explore sex toys, but doesn’t at all diminish the effectiveness of the Gigi 2’s design. I would actually say it complements it, by allowing more leeway for angling this toy’s shaft upwards. At just 79g it is very lightweight and incredibly easy to handle, even for those who might struggle with holding sex toys. All of these are clear benefits to the Lelo Gigi 2, which come together to create a very effective end product.
On top of this the Lelo Gigi 2 comes in a wonderful box which is perfect for gift-giving or for spoiling one’s self with. I personally felt very self-complimentary seeing the treat that I had procured myself from Lelo arrive. There’s nothing quite like the elegantly understanding packaging of a Lelo toy to reassure you of the long-lasting quality of the product you are soon to sample.
But Lelo doesn’t just let their packaging speak for the high standards to which they hold their products. In addition to being 100% waterproof and USB rechargeable the Lelo Gigi 2 also comes with a 1 year warranty and a 10 year quality guarantee. All you need to do is register your toy upon its arrival and you will gain the full benefits of Lelo’s customer support (which, in my experience, has always been immaculate).
As a nice deviation from the standard spectrum of sex toys the Lelo Gigi 2 can be purchased in blue and grey as well as in the more conventional purple and pink. This gives a nice variety of options for users who dislike the aesthetic of overly ‘girly’ sex toys (something which I can sympathize with).
The Gigi 2 itself consists of an ABS plastic handle section and a smooth silicone shaft. Lelo really did set the bar when it came to luxury silicone, and the surface of their sex toys remains the standards to which other companies aspire. With this in mind you can be assured that the Lelo Gigi 2 is lint-free, unbelievably smooth, and has a wonderful matte appeal to it which beckons its users to stroke it up against their skin. If I’m feeling relatively sensual then I certainly don’t object to Mr. Peaches running the flat head of the Gigi 2 slowly across my body, enjoying its vibrations and smooth surface as he does so.
The vibrations for the Lelo Gigi 2 are easily navigated through its well-considered control panel—which has four buttons to allow you to filter through its 8 different vibration patterns and varying intensities. The Lelo Gigi 2 also has a travel lock system built in to these controls, which makes it a very good option to travel with (especially when considering its already petite dimensions).
The vibrations from the Lelo Gigi 2 are not the most powerful that Lelo can produce, but neither are they weak. As testament to this when I put the Lelo Gigi 2 on full power and proceeded to hand it to a friend (our dear resident Clementine) she literally jumped at the sensation. Her eyes then widened a bit as the potency of the Gigi 2 dawned on her and I saw a glint of desire emerge within them.
Still, the initial power did intimidate her and I also saw her relief when I put the Gigi 2 down to its gentlest setting. On this setting the Gigi 2 produces naught but a whisper—the tiniest uttering of sensation, like a gently whispered promise of pleasure soon to come. Moving through its intensities the Lelo Gigi 2 has the smooth buzz-rumble which is so well-maintained in the Lelo line. These vibrations never feel irritating, always have a resonance to them, but can’t exactly be classed as completely rumbly. They are too…polished. Too refined. Rumbles have a rough edge to them and a noticeable wild-side—the Lelo aims more for sophisticated sensation, and have their own signature vibrations because of this.
Granted, the flip side of this is that not everyone will find these vibrations to work with their body, and I personally don’t find that the Gigi 2 offers enough depth clitorally to tip me over the edge (although the smooth head of this toy is great for those who can enjoy it). Internally, however, the Lelo Gigi 2 provides more than enough resonance, strength, and angled persistence to give me pleasant vibrations which feel uncomplicated and wholly satisfying.
I wouldn’t say that I the Lelo Gigi 2 ever had me writhing vigorously in the throes of sexual passion, but neither did I really want that from the Gigi 2 either. No. This toy is much more of a pleasurable treat. A delightful retreat from daily life to just lie back and enjoy yourself with. Sometimes it’s nice to return to that simplicity in a toy—that basic effectiveness of form and vibration. I savor each encounter with the Gigi 2 because of this.
In terms of downsides I personally found very few.
Obviously if rumble or extreme power are your jam then the Lelo Gigi 2 might lose out to something such as the Lelo Mona 2 or the Lelo Siri 2 (depending on your needs), but there’s certainly nothing wrong with pursuing your preference.
The Lelo Gigi 2 also comes with a storage bag, so this isn’t an issue, and it’s quiet enough to allow for very discreet use.
I suppose if there were something I could objectively rank against this toy it’s that its open charge port means that you’ll need to pay extra attention drying that area. I have had an open-ported toy rust over a little bit before from being left damp. Yes, yes—feel free to slap me on the wrist (or anywhere else you wish).
But the Lelo Gigi 2 truly met (and, in some instances, exceeded) my expectations and I now fully understand why this toy has earned its status as one of the most popular G-Spotting vibrators on the market.
When I was doing research on the Lelo Gigi 2 I encountered one site that had a single-worded 5-star review on it and which read as follows:
This pretty much sums up the effectiveness of the Lelo Gigi 2 in a manner more succinct than I could ever muster.
The Lelo Gigi 2 is effective, accessible for beginners, luxurious enough to feel like a treat, yet durable and reliable enough to also feel like a wise investment. It’s colorful, brilliantly conceived, and well-executed and I personally wish I had made it part of my sex toy arsenal a lot sooner.
