Toy Review: The Tracy’s Dog Magic Wand Vibrator

Is there such a thing as too many wands?

Wands are the sex toy that just keep on giving. Capable of giving broad, all-enveloping sensations or a more localized, pin-point experience depending on their size and shape and with a convenient handle for ease of use, wands are many people’s go-to vibrator. That’s before mentioning vibration too.

The iconic allure of the quintessential wand vibrator is sheer uncompromised power and when most people purchase a wand this is what they’re hoping to be met with.

But we’ve come a long way since the days of the Hitachi. The newest generation of wands come in all shapes and sizes, fulfil more diverse roles, cater to different power preferences, and even have accessories. These add-on features diversify the potential of wands even further, making them even more magical than they were to start with.

The Tracy’s Dog Magic Wand Vibrator is definitely part of this modern development in wand design. This product maintains the essence of its bulkier forebears while still embracing the potential that wands have moving forward in the industry. And, yes, it’s strong. Thank the wand gods.

The Tracy’s Dog Magic Wand Vibrator

The Tracy’s Dog Magic Wand Vibrator is one of many mid-sized wand designs on the market. However, unlike a lot of mid-sized offerings this particular wand stands out in two notable ways.

001
This wand is like a mid-sized Swiss army sex toy.

The first has to be the head size. For most wands the head will be the bulkiest part of the toy. This is because broad-sweeping sensations is what wands are best known for. The Tracy’s Dog Wand chooses to break this mold by making their wand vibe’s head look practically petite in comparison to toys of a similar size.

The overall length of the Tracy’s Dog Wand is 7.5 inches and 2 of those inches are comprised of the wand’s head. This head has a circumference of 4.5 inches (as opposed to its shaft/handle area which has a maximum circumference of 4.75 inches). This definitely gives the Tracy’s Dog Wand a more compact feel during use and allows it to be applied to smaller areas. That being said the Tracy’s Dog Wand’s head is still very bulb-like, which means its vibrations never quite feel pin-point, but compared to a fully-fledged wand it’s definitely hitting sweeter spots with more precision.

This may have been one of the intentions when giving the Tracy’s Dog Wand a smaller head but, if I were to speculate, the second reason is certainly more to do with this wand’s other distinctive feature.

Unlike most mid-range wand vibrators currently available the Tracy’s Dog Wand comes with three attachments, which help change the wand’s function. The fact that this toy can take attachments is nothing new but the fact that they’re included with the toy (all for €22.99) is a bit more stand-outish. We’ll get back to these attachments later but for now just know that their inclusion with this toy makes me a very happy reviewer.

The Tracy’s Dog Wand is a budget luxury toy and comes with all of the associated perks. It’s 100% waterproof, USB rechargeable, and is covered in a luxurious matte silicone. This makes the Tracy’s Dog Wand phthalate-free, latex-friendly, non-porous, and completely body-safe. The matte silicone used for the Tracy’s Dog Wand doesn’t attract lint and feels beautiful to the touch. It works well when coupled with water-based lubricant but could perhaps benefit from having a bit more grab if it wants to fully engage with the clitoris (to sound a bit Star Trek-y for a moment).

The head attachments for this wand are also made from silicone and are very well made. There’s enough flexibility in the silicone to allow the attachments to be easily removed and put in to place and I never once feared tearing or damaging the material when doing so.

The wand itself has a firm shaft and head but an incredibly flexible neck which can actually be readily bent into a right angle if needed. Thankfully, though, this neck is not flimsy and doesn’t bend easily, meaning that if you like to apply pressure you won’t feel like the wand is trying to pull away or escape. A reasonable adjustment is there if you need it but doesn’t seem noticeable if not, which is the perfect way to handle a flexible neck for an external sex toy.

The Tracy’s Dog Wand is controlled by two buttons—a simple + and – system—which allows users to easily filter through its 7 different settings, 1 of which is a continuous vibration. This may be a bummer for people who are used to having 3 options to choose from, but I personally didn’t take issue with it when using the Tracy’s Dog Wand. Why? Well firstly because this is a silicone wand that is rechargeable, waterproof, comes with attachments, and only costs €22.99, so I think I can afford it the limitation. But, secondly, this wand doesn’t mess around and the continuous setting it offers is powerful. It certainly holds its own among other similarly sized wands and provides a rapid rumbling sensation which quivers through the body with persistent depth.

This toy is easy to control and easy to use.
This toy is easy to control and easy to use.

Straight off the bat this setting may be too intense for some, and if you like gentler vibrations I feel confident in telling you that the Tracy’s Dog Wand is not the wand for you. Compared to similar wands the vibrations from the Tracy’s Dog Wand are more buzz than rumble and have a high pitch to them, but they’re not battery-power buzzy nor numb-your-hand buzzy. The wand simply has a buzz which is rapid and noticeable but doesn’t override the prevailing sensation of depth.

One of the huge benefits of this no-nonsense approach to the vibration intensity is just how effective it is with the attachments too. For all three attachments the wand’s vibrations translated with perfect clarity and continued to feel strong and pleasurable. This was a welcome discovery—as too often have I found that vibrators with attachments simply can’t manage to get the vibration intensity to travel through the toy. Granted, this is probably because the Tracy’s Dog Wand’s attachments are rather small and contained but what works work.

As for the attachments themselves Mr. Peaches and I both really liked them. While the insertable G-Spot attachment is very slim and rather shallow I found that this worked to the attachment’s advantage—allowing it to caress and vibrate my vaginal opening in a manner that I found unexpectedly pleasurable. In fact it did a better job for me personally than about 98% of rabbit vibrator when it comes to dual stimulation, so bravo Tracy’s Dog. During use the circular head of the wand hugged up to my vulva and clit while the internal shaft stimulated my insides with its beautifully-translated vibrations. In my opinion the wand is worth it for use with this attachment alone, but of course it has two more.

This really works for me.
This really works for me.

The attachment used for cupping Mr. Peaches’ balls was equally well-received and equally effective at getting the job done. When I first placed it on Mr. Peaches’ balls his immediate response was to jolt upright and say ‘Yup, you can definitely use that while giving me a blowjob at some point’. It was a very romantic moment, I can assure you.

The third attachment, the ‘Jellyfish’, was much more redundant than the others. It could be flipped to add some extra periphery stimulation but that was fiddlier to maintain then it was worth. It also felt flimsy compared to the other 2 attachments, so I give this one the ‘You Tried’ medal.

If there’s a downside to this vibrator it is that there aren’t more continuous settings and that the vibrations aren’t as rumbly as I would like. A bit more rumble and I think I would use this toy as my go-to medium sized wand. As it stands it’ll still remain in my top 3 medium-sized wands but will mainly only get grabbed when I want to use it for Mr. Peaches—who found it to be a really good fit for him.

This is because the Tracy’s Dog Wand is small enough to be applied to the perineum, the coronal ridge, or the balls (especially with the attachment) during sexual actions without ever feeling overbearing or overly bulky. As such it’s a great option for a wand that caters to all genitalia rather than focusing firmly on the vulva-lovin’.

But, hey, if the only downside I have against this wand is personal preference then you know it’s still a damned good buy and, again, I’m impressed by just how cheap this product is.

Final Thoughts

If you’re a wand lover looking for a mid-sized wand and don’t mind buzzier vibrations and a single speed option then the Tracy’s Dog Wand is a brilliant budget buy which is too good to be missed. Equally if you’re looking for a wand that is light-weight to hold during PiV sex and can easily be used on any genitalia then the Tracy’s Dog Wand is a great option.

However if rumbly vibes are your domain or you value gentle vibrations and/or the option to adjust vibration intensity then the Tracy’s Dog Wand won’t appeal much to you.

Personally I admit that I did miss the almost performative ability to crank this toy up ‘another level’ but in terms of practical application I never had a bad experience with this wand and was more than satisfied with the orgasms that it provided.

Because of this I can certainly recommend the Tracy’s Dog Wand and think it’s a great addition to my own collection.
