Toy Review: The Utimi U Magic Gift Vibrator

It’s been a long, looong time since I last put batteries in to a sex toy. In some ways I view battery-powered sex toys as an ancient relic of the past—something I occasionally excavate from my oldest sex toy drawers.

Yes, I know rechargeable vibrators have batteries but it’s not the same, dammit! It’s not buying over-priced batteries, then unscrewing the toy, putting them in, figuring out how to get the cap back on, and then hoping that the toy works and, if not, double checking the batteries are in right. Maybe I’m a bit battery-inept but the whole process was always a pain for me.

And yet with the Utimi U Magic Gift Vibrator the process actually feels worth it. I’d happily slide 2xAA’s in to this toy from time-to-time (though, I have to admit, I’d probably end up cursing when the batteries died).

The Utimi U Magic Gift Vibrator

The design of the Utimi U Magic Gift Vibrator isn’t exclusive to Utimi—being a standard wholesale design—but it’s still very effective. This may sound strange coming from me because, as most of you know, I’m generally not a fan of rabbit vibrators either. In fact the more I think about it the more the odds were stacked against this toy from the very start, and yet it managed to power through (pun certainly intended).

Could be one of the very few rabbit vibes to actually work for me?
Could be one of the very few rabbit vibes to actually work for me?

Part of what makes this vibrator work so well is its design. This vibrator is definitely not trying to break the mold and because of this it can essentially take some of the best components from pre-existing designs to create something that gels into an effective value vibrator.

When it comes to the Utimi U Magic Gift Vibrator this translates to a flexible curved shaft which bulges out before tapering (much like the Lelo Mona Wave or a shrunk down Swan Wand), a rabbit-like clitoral arm which is reminiscent of many designs, and a standard control panel which is pretty intuitive to most sex toy users (one button to turn the toy one and off and another to sift through its 10 different patterns, including 3 different intensities).

This alone doesn’t sound that spectacular but the key to the vibrator’s success comes from its flexible neck and the design of the clitoral arm. In perhaps its most distinctive move, the Utimi U Magic Gift Vibrator’s clitoral arm ends in a rather flat section. This section, compared to other clitoral prongs that I’ve used, rests much more naturally on the clitoris and lays flat up against it rather than having it contend with a curve or bunny ears.

This design choice means more than you would imagine.
This design choice means more than you would imagine.

Combine this with the incredibly flexible neck of the Utimi U Magic Gift Vibrator (which can actually fold in half it’s so bendy) and you’ve got a rabbit vibrator that you can essentially angle and bend in to place for effective use. For once when I used the Utimi U Magic Gift Vibrator I didn’t feel like I was fighting against the G-Spot shaft of the vibrator, instead I managed to hit my clit and then bend the G-Spot shaft into the ideal point while still maintaining effective G-Spot stimulation. Again, this doesn’t sound like much but it’s frustratingly rare when it comes to rabbit vibrators and even more irksome now that I know it can be achieved with relative ease.

But anyways, on to the specs. The Utimi U Magic Gift Vibrator has an overall length of 9.05 inches and a maximum diameter of about 1.57 inches, which is manageable for most people. However because of the bulging shaft this vibrator does feel slightly larger than it should, adding a nice little bit of girth.

While this vibrator isn’t necessarily a luxury vibrator it is what I’d consider to be budget-luxury, which is an oxymoron which is becoming all the more accessible nowadays (much to my excitement, because we all deserve high-grade, body-safe toys).

This toy has a simple control panel and comes with a storage bag.

As long as the battery cap is screwed firmly in to place this toy is waterproof, though not submersible. Use this toy in the shower and rinse it in the sink but don’t go for a bath with it and place the whole toy under the water.

This toy is made from ABS plastic and medical grade silicone, which makes it non-porous, phthalate-free, and completely body-safe. This silicone is matte and feels as silky smooth as any luxury vibrator that I own. It’s also completely lint-free and incredibly easy to clean (due to being waterproof).

This silicone is so smooth that I actually found it lacks some of the grip of other matte toys, which is a bit of a shame, but there’s still enough to feel noticeable during use, it’s just a bit muted.

In addition to its successful design one of the pleasant surprises offered by the Utimi U Magic Gift Vibrator is the strength and type of its vibrations. While it’s vibrations get buzzier as the intensity ramps up this toy starts with some rather strong and rumbly vibrations which can actually bring me to orgasm on the lowest setting.

The shape of this toy is great but it would be nothing without good vibrations to back it up.

The lower setting has a deep, flickering rumble to it which has a quiver to it and this translates just as well into the clitoral arm as it does the internal shaft. Because of this it’s almost a shame when things get more rapid (and thus buzzier) as the power ramps up, but at no point does the Utimi U Magic Gift Vibrator lose its depth, nor does it get numbing, high-pitched or irritating. In fact they’re actually some of the better vibrations that I’ve encountered from a battery-powered vibe and elicited an audible “Oh wow” from me when I turned this toy on at first.

But, of course, this toy isn’t perfect, though many of this toy’s downsides are down to personal preference.

If you prefer firm shafts which allow you to apply pressure then the Utimi U Magic Gift Vibrator is obviously not for you and you might even find yourself bending the Utimi U Magic Gift Vibrator out of shape.

It’s also worth noting that although I could bend the Utimi U Magic Gift Vibrator to suit my personal anatomy it still won’t work for everyone, so consider your previous experiences with rabbit vibrators and what did and didn’t work for you with them. If angling was your primary issue then the Utimi U Magic Gift Vibrator may be ideal but if it was length then there may still be some issues.

Being battery powered might be considered a downside (because of the cost involved in buying batteries) but it can also be a perk depending on what you want. If you like the freedom of simply popping in new batteries when your toy runs out of juice then a battery-powered sex toy is actually a perk. However if you want to go for the long term investment then rechargeable toys are always preferable (I can’t help but question the longevity of this vibrator).

Final Thoughts

This vibrator typically retails at $18 and is, in my opinion, worth it. The vibrations this toy provides are strong for a battery vibrator and deep for a budget-luxury vibe. The bendability of the shaft makes it more likely to work with people’s anatomy and might actually make it a more viable rabbit-vibe option for some.

There aren’t that many rabbit vibrators that can make me orgasm without the use of an independent clitoral toy but the Utimi U Magic Gift Vibrator pulled it off.

If you’re looking to try luxury rabbit vibrators without the excess cost then I can certainly recommend the Utimi U Magic Gift Vibrator.

Recommend to:

People who want a budget-luxury vibrator.

People who like bendable shafts.

People who like flickering/rumbly vibrations.

Do Not Recommend to:

People who prefer rechargeable vibrators.

People who like firm shafts.

People who dislike any and all buzzy vibrators.
