The Lelo Mia 2 is the perfect compact, discreet, travel-friendly clitoral vibrator. I’m serious.
This toy represents Lelo at its absolute best: creating a near-flawless toy that will be useful for many and invaluable for some. There are a lot of ‘discreet’ clitoral vibrators on the market but the Lelo Mia 2 is what I consider to be the epitome. It performs admirably in all the ways that matter, leading to an exceptional vibrator.
I don’t know why I never tried one sooner. I’ve been missing out.
The Lelo Mia 2
The embodiment of a discreet clitoral vibrator is something every day, unassuming and wholly unobtrusive. As such it may seem slightly cliché that the Lelo Mia 2 looks like a tube of lipstick or mascara but it works well regardless. The Lelo Mia 2 is available in black, rose or pink. Mine is pink and has an air of elegance about it, though I imagine the black would appear even sleeker and even more inconspicuous. This is, perhaps, the ultimate paradox of the Lelo Mia 2; it manages to simultaneously look both wholly striking and totally inconspicuous. How you view it depends on if you’re in the know.
The Lelo Mia 2’s design is also perfect for allowing sexual exploration. Its tip provides fantastic pin-point stimulation and can also be used to tease and stroke the labia or other areas. However, the Mia 2 can also be laid across the clitoris, allowing the shaft to provide a broader for of stimulation that stimulates the clitoris and the surrounding areas. Of course this toy isn’t anal friendly but pretty much all other areas are up for exploration. It can also be used by those with a penis. It isn’t the Mia 2’s primary purpose but it still does as admirable job at teasing sensitive areas.
The Lelo Mia 2 is made out of ABS plastic, making it phthalate-free, non-porous and completely body-safe. Plastic transfers vibrations very well but it can feel too firm for some. This is perhaps the biggest strike against the Lelo Mia 2 and, even then, it’s personal preference. The plastic is made to look glossy and is incredibly receptive to lubricant, so much so that you’ll want to make sure you have a firm grip when using this toy. Thankfully the control panel is silicone, making it easy to get a grip.
Speaking of the controls, they are incredibly simple. + and – buttons allow you to filter through the Mia 2’s vibration intensities and 6 patterns. To get to the patterns all you have to do is press, hold and then release the + button. To return to continual vibrations just press the – button. It couldn’t be simpler. Of course the Mia 2 has a travel lock function too and to access this all you need to do is press and hold both buttons until it becomes apparent that the Mia 2 is locked. The same is done to unlock this toy, making for a very convenient travel lock.
The Mia 2 comes with some other perks too, all of which are befitting of a luxury brand such as Lelo. For starters the Lelo Mia 2 comes with a storage bag, a warranty, and a free sachet of water-based lubricant. The toy itself is also 100% waterproof (when its cap is on properly) and USB rechargeable. The Lelo Mia 2 has the USB built into the device so all you need to do is plug it in, let it charge, and then play. A 1hr charge will get you up to 1.5hrs play, which is very satisfying.
When it comes to vibrations the Lelo Mia 2 isn’t the rumbliest vibrator on the market but it’s certainly one of the most satisfyingly strong ones. Lelo’s buzz/rumble combo comes into play again and the Lelo Mia 2 is accessible to most people. The gentlest vibrations start off with a promising rumble and a gentle whisper of things to come. Ramping up the power reveals a strong, rapid hum of a vibration which provides enough depth to spread to other regions, teasing them too. On a good day I don’t even need to remove my clothing to orgasm with the Lelo Mia 2; the depth of its vibrations have got me covered (although, I do have to admit, I prefer the intimacy of direct skin contact).
My orgasms with the Lelo Mia 2 were always exactly what I wanted. They were rich, satisfying and perfectly discreet. Even in a completely silent room the hum of the Lelo Mia 2 is never suspicious and certainly can’t be heard through closed doors. I wouldn’t say the Lelo Mia 2 ever gave me a strongly unique or transformative orgasm but, then again, neither did I want it to; I just wanted it to give me a damned good orgasm. If I’m ever on the road I can trust the Lelo Mia 2 to give me that.
Is the Lelo Mia 2 perfect? I think that for its purpose it’s very close. The only thing I can think of that might deter people from the Lelo Mia 2 is material or vibration preferences, and neither of these are a fault with the toy.
Along the same lines, if you want a toy that provides very broad vibrations, if very rumbly, or is super powerful then the Lelo Mia 2 isn’t that toy and you’re better off looking at something like the Lelo Smart Wand Large. If you want an insertible then the Lelo Mia 2 is also a poor fit and you might prefer something like the Lelo Mona 2 or the Lelo Elise 2.
Half the battle with sex toys is expectations and if you’re expecting a discreet, small, powerful clitoral vibrator then the Lelo Mia 2 will most likely meet all of your expectations.
Overall I am incredibly happy with the Lelo Mia 2 and I can already tell that it will be a faithful travel companion of mine, as well as a perfect toy for when I need a smaller vibrator for practical reasons.
I am honestly impressed with the Lelo Mia 2’s ability to tick all the boxes for the ideal discreet clitoral vibrator and it’s one i’ll certainly be recommending when people come to me seeking one.
If you’ve been craving this sort of vibrator for a while then consider your quest complete. Or, at the very least, give the Lelo Mia 2 a try and see just how well it manages to tick your boxes too.
