Toy Review: The BS Atelier Nude Dildo

The BS Atelier Alex is one of my favourite dildos of all time. It’s the dildo equivalent of a gentle lover: not all up in your sensitive zones but with enough of a caress to drive them wild regardless. It’s a toy I highly recommend.

With that in mind I was dying to try BS Atelier’s very own ‘realistic’ dildo, the Nude. The Nude dildo line comes in four different colours: Latte, Macchiato, Caffé and Cioccolato. These help run the spectrum of skin tones, making it a more accessible dildo for harnessed use. The Nude line also has a range of strapless strap ons but I opted for the basic dildo instead.

My dildo came in Latte colour and the description page for it comes with a rather eloquent description:

[This dildo is a] well-balanced dildo characterised by a slight caramelised hint. Elegant and vintage delight. Lush, smooth and silky are all synonyms of this velvety dildo with unexpectedly wild notes of malt and wood.

While it may be a stretch to describe a dildo as having ‘unexpectedly wild notes of malt and wood’ I cannot deny the ambiance that this description provides. The BS Atelier Nude Dildo is a rich and dreamy dildo, providing smooth sensations with a hint of something more.

The BS Atelier Nude Dildo

While BS Atelier are mostly known for their non-representational dildos, made up of amazing colours and designs, the BS Atelier Nude is a true attempt at making a representational dildo. ‘What does nudity mean?’, BS Atelier asks, ‘It means showing your skin at the same time as revealing your story’.

If the BS Atelier Nude has a story to tell it is one of dedication. This dildo has been beautifully crafted to provide a sense of realist. The slightly bulging shaft, the veins, the glans and the amazing coronal ridge; each aspect of this dildo has been designed with love and care. The BS Atelier Nude also sports a beautiful curve, making it perfect for G-Spotting.

Of course the coronal ridge and the almost mushroom-like aspect of the head is what appeals to me the most. It’s a type of design that I’ve always adored and it often pays off with some intense stimulation for me. Typically I’m not a big fan of prominent veins in real life but on the BS Atelier Nude they help provide some added texture to a shaft that is otherwise completely smooth.

The BS Atelier Nude is made out of silicone, making it non-porous, phthalate-free and completely body-safe. The Nude’s silicone is a fun mixture; most of the shaft feels mostly firm with a little bit of give, however the head of the Nude has a bit more squish to it. It’s nowhere near as squishy as the Mustang but it does feel similar to the outer layer of Tantus’ dual density line.

Overall, though, I was surprised by just how firm the Nude felt. Compared to my Alex the Nude feels incredibly firm. This makes sense to some degree, as the Nude is thicker (with a 4.75 inch circumference in some places) however it feels like there’s a silicone difference too. The Nude just feels chunkier, girthier than the Alex. It feels like it has some heft to it and would be useful when you want to rock a firm phallus. With a flared base the Nude is harness compatible, but it’s quite a moderate flare which could cause trouble during vigorous thrusts. I’m also hesitant to recommend it as an anal toy because of this.

Because I felt like trying out the strap on potential of this dildo I decided to simulate a blow job on it. This actually proved to be quite difficult. Because this toy has such a prominent coronal ridge it doesn’t allow for a particularly fluid ride orally. If you just want to suck the head of this toy then it allows this well enough but if you’re going for elegant deep throat thrusts then the coronal ridge might have other plans for you. Because of this I personally wouldn’t use this dildo as your blow job proxy, but it’s all up to your technique really.

The corona might thwart your fellatio fantasies.

In vaginal use the Nude was a bit surprising for me. When I first used it I was feeling quite tight and I found that the coronal ridge actually felt too hard and rigid to be comfortable for me. Say whaaat? That literally never happens. Thankfully this was a one-off experience for me but if you’re not used to prominent coronal ridges then the Nude might need some warming up to or may just be uncomfortable full stop.

Every other experience with the Nude was enjoyable. Unlike the Alex, the Nude’s prominent head design means that you are constantly aware of this toy’s presence and it does apply much more pressure on the G-Spot. For me this meant that I didn’t like too thrust too rigorously with the Nude, but I still enjoyed some gentle thrusting motions.

Orgasms were frequently intense with the Nude.

The persistent nature of this toy meant that orgasms came easy with it and, when they did, they were strong and firm, though not always amazingly long. The Nude provided more of a burst of intensity and a euphoric release rather than a continued level of pleasure throughout. Still, it’s certainly not to be sniffed at; as long as the intensity is still there (and it certainly was) I don’t mind a shorter release of pleasure.

The biggest downside to this toy might be its curve and head, which could catch of people’s pubic bone or simply feel too firm to thrust with. It certainly stopped me from simulating oral with this toy and I doubt I would have liked vigorous thrusting with it.

Oh, it’s also a lint and fur magnet. Pet owners beware.

Still if you’re looking for a toy that’s similar to the Alex but with a bit more kick then BS Atelier have made the answer to your prayers in the Nude. While using it I did get reminded of the Alex, and there was a sense of delicacy but it was balanced out in a firmer manner by the design of the head. In some ways it was the best of both worlds, though I think I still prefer my Alex.

Final Thoughts

Overall I was very happy with the Nude and feel like it’s a toy I’ll return to whenever the Alex just doesn’t have the corona that I’m craving.

Firmer, thicker, and more defined than the Alex, the Nude provides a viable alternative for those that want a bit more oomph from their sex toy. The Nude is well-designed to locate and stimulate the G-Spot and the result of that for me was orgasms that burst into life.

Still, if you’re looking for a gentler toy that doesn’t feel so firm then BS Atelier has other great designs to offer, the Alex being my personal favourite.
