At £129, the Lelo Bridal pleasure Set is not your standard sex toy purchase, nor is it meant to be. This is a luxurious gift meant for happy newlyweds; the perfect wedding gift for the sexually progressive. As such I will be judging the Lelo Bridal Pleasure Set on its qualities as a gift (specifically a wedding gift). While this does make this review a bit different from my normal format I feel it is the best way to truly appraise this gorgeous set.
If you’re a wedding guest looking for a speedy review then let me simply put it this way: The Lelo Bridal Pleasure Set is a glorious compilation of items that are carefully curated to perfectly embody the spirit of a marriage.
At this task the Lelo Bridal Pleasure Set succeeds, though the results may vary depending on the couple in question.
The Lelo Bridal Pleasure Set
When it comes to wedding gifts presentation really does matter and the Lelo Bridal Pleasure Set is a beauty to behold. The cardboard sleeve that is wrapped around the box is beautifully white and adorned with photographs of papercraft butterflies and roses.
‘Lelo’ is embossed into the sleeve in silver lettering and the back gives an apt description of the item. Designed ‘For those wishing to say “I do” to a lifetime of passion and intimacy’ the Bridal Pleasure Set aims to help couples get a head start on those ambitions.
Once the cardboard sleeve is placed aside you are left with a beautiful box (which also works well for long term storage). Opening the box unveils a bridal white edition of the Lelo Noa and a blindfold and teaser tucked away in beautiful craft paper and tied up with a white lace ribbon.
You really cannot fault this product on presentation and it would certainly make a most elegant bridal gift.
As I said before, there are three different items in the Lelo Bridal Pleasure Set and it only seems fair that I address each in turn.
The blindfold provided in this set was the first thing that caught my eye. With beautiful silk ties and a suede front decorated with pearls this blindfold is by far the most elegant and luxurious blindfold that I have ever owned. When I say silk ties I mean 100% silk; the kind reserved only for the most sophisticated of occasions. This blindfold is certainly suited for a bride and provides an air of grace.
This blindfold is incredibly comfortable to wear thanks to its silk backing and Mr. Peaches found it very easy to tie. Once in place the blindfold keeps out most light but it does allow for some vision near the nose area. For some this may be annoying but, personally, I really liked this.
For me it warranted a certain amount of trust in your partner. Sure, you are blindfolded, but it is your choice whether or not you close your eyes and give yourself over to your partner or chose to take a sneak peek. Transforming the blindfold into a trust exercise is, to me, the perfect embodiment of a strong relationship while also allowing a sense of security and control that may reassure more vanilla users.
Not once did the blindfold shift position during use but, then again, I didn’t use it for vigorous actions. Both Mr. Peaches and I concluded that this blindfold was a delicate item best used for gentle exercises in intimacy. This Bridal Pleasure Set is not intended to be hardcore in its execution and neither is the blindfold.
Complimenting the blindfold is a pearl-studded teaser ring that is intended to heighten sensations while blindfolded.
I have to admit when I first saw this I was at a loss of what to do. I knew it was a ‘teaser ring’ but my brain didn’t link that with the type of ring that you wear on your finger. It’s probably for the best because fingered use seems a bit silly and unwieldy to me. It may work very intuitively for some but not for me. Instead I simply held the top of the teaser ring and used it like that (as did Mr. Peaches).
The teaser ring is made out of suede, which is quite a soft material, however the front of the material felt a bit superficial at first. I was worried about how it would translate during use, but I had no need to. The teaser ring is a delightful way to effectively illicit pleasurable sensations on the skin. When Mr. Peaches used this on me I found myself feeling both vitalized and serene at the same time. It was a sensation that I didn’t experience but it was certainly appreciated.
Again, this item isn’t particularly intense but it’s not meant to be. Even as a flogger it’s pretty tame and that’s perfectly fine, because for building up a sense of anticipation and intimacy it works very well.
As with the blindfold there is a level of trust involved with the teaser ring that helps strengthen the bond between partners. However the teaser ring is non-invasive enough that it could never really cause a mishap, even if it was the couple’s first time using such an item. It is perfectly designed for users of all levels and I think that’s ideal for a wedding gift. After all one wouldn’t want to assume the experience level of their friends (especially if it’s not a usual topic of conversation).
The Lelo Noa is the only sex toy included in this set and it is, fittingly, a couples’ vibrator. The smaller, non-vibrating arm of the Noa is meant to be inserted during use whereas the larger section sits on top of the vulva and vibrates—stimulating the labia and clitoris.
Having tried other couples’ vibrators before I have to admit I was quite impressed with the Noa.
The Noa is made out of Lelo‘s signature silicone which is as soft and luxurious as it gets when it comes to silicone. It’s practically perfection. The vibrator is also rechargeable. All you need to do is unscrew the larger part of the Noa and it reveals a charge section. This makes the Noa 100% waterproof when screwed up properly, making it very easy to clean.
Although the Noa does not come with a SenseMotion™ remote control it is compatible with them, so those who already have one can control the Noa wirelessly. If you don’t have one then it’s not an issue—the Noa can be controlled directly by a single button on its larger section. The Noa has six different vibration modes (though I tend to use the constant one). The vibrations themselves are very pleasant.
Lelo vibrators tend to have a buzz/rumble feel to them but the Noa is mostly rumble with a flickering of buzz. It feels substantial during use and is powerful for its size but not overly so. This does mean that power queens such as myself might struggle to orgasm with it, but for the average user it delivers a respectable level of potency.
During use the Noa was a varied success. For doggy style I simply could not use this toy. It didn’t fit well with my body and things got a bit painful. This can sometimes happen with couples’ vibrators—as their shape aims to please an average meaning it can sometimes be ill-fitting for individuals.
However when using it with Mr. Peaches on top I was very pleased with the Noa and it is probably my favourite insertable couples’ vibrator. What’s really nice about the Noa is that its internal prong isn’t textured (which can cause irritation for me). Instead it has a subtle arch which works to grab and massage the G-spot during use. I definitely benefited from this feature and the Noa can easily enhance a lovemaking session.
The Noa’s internal arm is also dipped slightly to accommodate the shape of a penis (another handy feature). Mr. Peaches enjoys the subtle vibration of the Noa during initial use but after a while he gets used to it. Mainly he just can’t feel the Noa at all during use, which isn’t a downside; it’s certainly better than being irritated by it or feeling cramed in. Still this toy is mainly designed to please the wearer and it works well for that.
If I had to give a downside for the Noa it’s that it can take some time to put into place and may need some adjustment at first. It’s a toy you have to work with at first but once you’ve got the hang of it the Noa will reward your efforts.
Is there any other downside? Not really, to be honest. The Noa even comes with a handy storage bag, which is greatly appreciated. A manual might have been useful but, to be honest, the Noa is pretty intuitive to use.
Overall I adored the Lelo Bridal Pleasure Set and think it would make a great gift for any newlyweds. Striking a tame but intimate chord, the Lelo Bridal Pleasure Set is a classy and elegant set which should accommodate the taste of most couples (while also adding a level of exploration too).
It’s something I would certainly consider gifting a friend in future and, when I do, I know that they’ll be indulging in a truly luxurious sexual experience.
