Toy Review: Bondara’s Mr. Realist Dildo

Sometimes something comes along that really excites me. The Mr. Realist Dildo is one of those things.

I know what you’re thinking; it’s not the most likely of candidates. It’s just a realistic dildo, right? Well, yes, that’s true at a first glance but let me put it another way. The Mr. Realist Dildo from Bondara is an affordable silicone dildo which comes in four different colours and four different sizes, none of which go above £21. Sound a bit more interesting yet?

The fact of the matter is that in a market where safe materials usually equal an expensive end product the Mr. Realist Dildo is a breath of fresh air. It’s a nice, basic, body-safe dildo with size and colour variety enough to cater to most people’s needs. Not only that but the Mr. Realist actually feels good, exceptionally so. And that, to me, is exciting.

Bondara’s Mr. Realist Dildo

The Bondara Mr. Realist Dildo is a rather basic-looking silicone dildo, designed with realism and texture in mind. The entire dildo is adorned with detailing, such as prominent veins, skin texture and a very fetching coronal ridge. This gives the Mr. Realist Dildo somewhat of an exaggerated appearance, but it still stays within the realms of a realistic design.

The Mr. Realist is a solid step forward for affordable silicone dildos.

One of the biggest triumphs about the Mr. Realist Dildo is that it’s made out of 100% silicone. This makes the Mr. Realist phthalate-free, non-porous, and completely body-safe. The Mr. Realist is also incredibly easy to clean because of this. All you need is some antibacterial soap or a good toy cleaner and some water. Just scrub it, rinse it and you’re done.

For me the Mr. Realist represents a very positive step that Bondara is taking towards stocking a broader sample of body-safe toys at all price ranges. The Mr. Realist is not only body-safe but is also very affordable, meaning that buyers have more options when it comes to safe, accessible toys. This can only ever be a good thing to my mind.

This dildo knows how to get the job done.

The silicone used for the Mr. Realist has a matte surface and reasonable amount of drag. The silicone itself is quite firm but not as firm as some toys. It is flexible enough to be folded so that the tip touches the base and it does have some squish to it but it remains firm enough that the texture is very prominent.

As said before the Mr. Realist comes in four different sizes, which gives a nice amount of variety and allows users to work their way up the size scale if they wish. The sizes (and pricing options) are as follows:

In addition to having a firm, textured shaft, the Mr. Realist has a nice set of balls and a suction cup. This does mean that the Mr. Realist can be used with some harnesses (though it can be awkward) and is also suitable for anal use. Anal use is where the somewhat rigid nature of the Mr. Realist is particularly useful

That firmness is also a real highlight during vaginal use.

When I first saw the Mr. Realist I didn’t appreciate just how much texture it had. However as soon as I inserted it I was suddenly aware of all of the detail and sensations. The Mr. Realist’s veiny shaft is incredibly noticeable during use and it feels amazing. People who love texture are likely to love what the Mr. Realist provides. In fact the texture and firmness of the Mr. Realist is so prominent that I don’t tend to thrust too much with this dildo, it’s simply too much for me.

All of this texture really works to the toy's advantage.
Although it hinders thrusting, all of this texture really works to the toy’s advantage.

When I think of the Mr. Realist’s shaft I can’t help but swoon a bit. Those veins go a long way to providing a truly energizing sexual experience during use, whereas the coronal ridge is just the G-spot icing on the cake. That being said the Mr. Realist could do with a bit more of a curve to really exploit its design. As it currently stands I feel like this toy will please those who know where their G-spot is but might not be good for those who are still on the search, it also doesn’t provide too much pressure on the G-spot, which may disappoint some.

One of the things I really love about the Mr. Realist is that not only does it deliver a fantastic sexual experience on its own but it also enhances any further acts of penetration.

After an orgasm with the Mr. Realist I found that my vagina was so invigorated from the texture of the shaft that the PiV sex that followed was amplified to the max. Everything felt more sensitive and receptive. It was like the fizzy drink equivalent of sexual sensations—buzzing and full of minute sparks of energy that came together to make something exceptional (but, y’know, without the nasty side effects of fizzy drinks). This is one of the great perks of a textured toy and the Mr. Realist performed fantastically in this regard.

My orgasms with the Mr. Realist have always been very good, though not earth-shattering. Because the G-spotting isn’t as strong as I’d like the orgasms aren’t always as precise as I’d want them to be, but the texture provides a different type of climax that I’ve learnt to enjoy.

So, does the Mr. Realist have any downsides? Of course.

No product is without flaws and the Mr. Realist is no exception, however these flaws aren’t at all damning and many are personal preference.

If you dislike texture and firmer toys you are not likely to appreciate the Mr. Realist. It is rather firm and this just enhances the texture, so it’s really not for everyone. Those who need a more prominent G-spotting angle may also find that the Mr. Realist is lacking.

As more of an objective point the suction cup could do with some work. It’s okay most of the time but it sometimes slides out of place or comes off of a surface entirely. Its best use is probably in the shower but you’ll need to make sure it is firmly secure before jumping into using it.

What I’d really like to see now is for Bondara to make some other silicone options and to keep up the affordable pricing and size variations. Perhaps play around with silicone firmness if money permits too. As for the Mr. Realist I wouldn’t change a thing.

Final Thoughts

Allow me to be Mrs. Realist for a moment when I say that I can understand why some people purchase jelly or TPR/TPE toys as opposed to saving up for a silicone product. I don’t like it but I get it. Not everyone has the money to spend on expensive sex toys, for some people the limit they can spend on a toy cuts off at £25 and that’s that. After all, saving up for a luxury purchase is easier said than done.

This is why products like the Mr. Realist are so important.

For me to be able to tell you that there is a range of cheap, body-safe toys that come in a variety of sizes and colours is pretty awesome. But the fact that it is actually pretty damned effective as well fills me with such joy that I just feel like taking the two I own and waggling them in people’s faces shouting “Look at how good this is! You need to know about this!”.

Of course I won’t do that (because boundaries) but I will say that the Mr. Realist dildos have managed to go above and beyond my expectations and I can definitely recommend it to those who are interested. My only hope is that more toys like this will start entering the adult market because this is a solid step in the right direction.
