I’ve never been 100% sure whether textured toys were my thing or not. Bumps and ridges tend to irritate me more than anything else but abstract curves have appealed to me in the past. As such when Tantus were kind enough to provide me with the Splish I was reasonably excited but also a bit concerned. What if I didn’t like the Splish?
I’ve had my eye on the Splish for a very long time now so of course I wanted the Splish to meet the high hopes I had set for it. In addition to this Tantus are a genuinely fantastic company and I’ve never had a bad product from them. I wasn’t too sure how I’d feel if the Splish became the combo breaker in my otherwise very happy track record with Tantus.
Thankfully I had nothing to worry about.
The Tantus Splish is a small toys but provides a mighty amount of sensations. This dripping dildo is a winner as far as I’m concerned.
The Tantus Splish
The Splish itself is actually a mere droplet compared to its larger counterpart, the Splash, which has a diameter of 1.75 inches and measures 6.5 inches in length. In contrast the Splish is a mere 4.5 inches in length and has a diameter of just 1 inch. Seriously, this little dildo is adorably small and thoroughly non-threatening. I feel like I’d even consider this dildo ‘do-able’ back when I was suffering with vaginismus (though the texture might have thrown me a bit).
Because of this the Splish is great for anyone who prefers their dildos to be slimmer but it’s also great for anyone experimenting with texture. Whereas a larger textured toy might feel too overwhelming to insert and move around the Splish is so small that it’s almost impossible to feel daunted by it. It’s simply too cute for that.
Cute isn’t the only words I’d use for the Splish; it’s also gorgeous. The carefully crafted sections of the Splish’s segmented drips leave me in awe. The peacock blue colouration of the Splish is also to die for. Held up to the light the Splish has an in-depth shimmer to it that has to be seen to be believed. My photographs really don’t do it justice.
Tantus makes all of their dildos out of 100% Ultra Premium Silicone and the Splish is no exception. This dildo is phthalate-free, hypoallergenic, non-porous and completely body safe. It’s also very easy to clean. You can boil it, use a bleach solution or even chuck it in the dishwasher. Personally, though, I prefer the good old fashioned soap & water method, which also works really well.
I used my Splish vaginally but the Splish does have a flared base—making it harness compatible and anal-safe. If you’re wondering about how the Splish feels anally then check out Peep’s Scoop’s review of the Splish.
Vaginally the Splish is incredibly enjoyable. It’s true that the Splish may be small but it definitely should be underestimated—as the texture it provides makes it a very stimulating toy. Every time I inserted this toy it was like its texture invigorated my vaginal wall with sensation and shot waves of pleasure throughout my body.
I don’t usually thrust toys but because the Splish is tiny I made an exception to the rule and immediately thanked myself for it. When I thrust with the Splish it’s like there’s a party in my vagina and the guest of honour is multiple orgasms. This is solely down to the texture of Splish.
That being said I also really enjoy just lightly wiggling the Splish during use too. This allows the subtle texture on the Splish’s head to really come into its own and delivers intense orgasms. If I had to guess why this might be the case I would say it has something to do with the rippling texture that the head has, which can really be felt when rubbing up against the G-Spot.
I have never had a bad orgasm with the Splish (in fact my orgasms with this toy have been consistently amazing and incredibly prolonged) however I do sometimes wish that the Splish was larger. I can’t help it; I just imagine how amazing the Splish’s texture would be combined with a feeling of fullness and I melt. Thankfully that’s what the Splash is for, so this doesn’t really detract from the Splish too much—it simply means those who like larger toys are probably better off choosing the Splash instead of this tiny toy.
So, aside from size, is there much else that can be said against the Splish? Well, there’s only one thing really and that’s to do with cleaning. Because the Splish does have so much texture you have to be extra thorough when cleaning it—making sure to scrub all of its nooks and crannies. It really doesn’t help that the Splish also has draggy silicone which is a total dust magnet. Having the Splish in a pet-friendly home is especially groan-inducing. Thankfully because the Splish is so versatile when it comes to cleaning options this isn’t a deal breaker by any means. It’s just something to be aware of.
Overall I really love the Splish and think that it provides a fantastic introduction to textured toys. Its smaller form doesn’t detract at all from its distinct sensations—which carried me through waves of orgasms.
If you’ve read this review and you like what you’ve read then why not splurge on a Splish today and add a spattering of texture to your toy box.
