Toy Review: The Boom Olive 10 Speed Silicone G-Spot Vibrator

The Boom Olive Vibrator surprised me in multiple ways. It surprised me when I learnt that ‘Boom’ means ‘Tree’ in Dutch, making the Olive’s name a clever little nod to where it was made. It surprised me when I found out this toy was made by Shots Media, who have made some good and some terrible toys in the past. And, most of all, it surprised me with an orgasm.

That’s not a mean spirited quip against this toy, mind you; I mean it literally surprised me. As in one moment I was lying there thinking “This toy doesn’t feel too bad” and the next moment I was gasping through a powerful climax. There was no real indication that this was going to happen to me and it generally just came out of nowhere, however it certainly wasn’t unwelcome.

Yes, the Boom Olive Vibrator surprised me in so many ways upon first use, but could it continue to deliver after that initial shock was gone? Read on to find out.

The Boom Olive 10 Speed Silicone G-Spot Vibrator

The Boom Olive is part of a series of Boom toys, all of which are inspired by nature. The tagline of the line is actually ‘Natural Pleasure’ in keeping with the theme. To this end the entire range has a simulated wood effect on its side and on the controls. While not wholly practical I have to admit I do like this little bit of detailing. I also like the fact that my vibe is named after a tree, which adds a nice personal touch to the range. In short it’s a branding I can appreciate, though good branding alone is not enough to make a toy exceptional.

The Boom Olive is going for a natural feel while also maintaining a sleek appearance.

The Boom Olive itself is made from a rigid-feeling, dust-free silicone. While the silicone itself is very firm the surface is lovely and soft. It’s definitely appealing to the touch and doesn’t seem to attract that much dust at all.

The Boom Olive is also water resistant (making it easier to clean but not submersible) and rechargeable via USB. A single charge takes 3 hours and will give about 110 minutes of play time on the highest setting. The control section flashes red to let you know when it’s charging and will stay constantly lit when it is fully charged.

The Boom Olive comes with 10 different speeds—three of which are constant speeds with varying intensities and the rest of which are patterns. Holding the bottom power button for three seconds activated the Olive whereas the other button cycles through the patterns. The vibrations themselves are quite enjoyable but not mind blowing.

Mostly they stay in the realms of mid-to-strong level vibrations but aren’t as powerful as the Lelo Mona 2 or similar vibes. That being said they do have a somewhat similar buzz-rumble vibration combo, although the buzz is more prominent and the depth isn’t as significant. Don’t get me wrong these vibrations are nice, and do achieve some depth but they’re not the main strong-point of the toy for me, so I feel like people looking primarily for a great internal vibrator might find that the Boom Olive doesn’t quite meet that criteria.

Instead where this toy really excelled for me was its G-Spot use, specifically the shape. At first I thought the shape of the Boom Olive was pretty standard but I was wrong. The Boom Olive may have a curved shape but it is complemented by rather well-defined linear edges which gives the Boom Olive the ability to lock into place inside of me and happily stay there for easy hands-free stimulation.

This toy locks into place and then wastes no time in bringing me to orgasm.

Of course I need clitoral stimulation as well but at no point do I need to thrust or wiggle the Boom Olive for it to bring me to a pretty fantastic orgasm. Like I said, it surprised me at first, because the initial stimulation felt pleasant but hardly prominent. Then all of a sudden I became astutely aware of the Boom Olive’s curve caressing my G-Spot and, the next thing I know, I’m climaxing for an impressively long time. It happened fairly quickly too, this vibe does not mess about.

This has been my consistent experience with the Boom Olive to the point where it feels almost lazy to use this toy. It’s simply too easy. All I need to do is pop the Boom Olive in on the first speed setting, use a strong vibe on my clit and then suddenly the perfectly positioned arch of the Olive will have me reaping the disproportional benefits of my minimal efforts.

Because of this I am quite a big fan of the Boom Olive but I’m willing to say it won’t be as successful for others.

I’m very aware of the fact that the Boom Olive is yielding such results because it fits damned near perfectly with my body. This won’t be the case with everyone and because the Boom Olive does have such a distinctive shape others may struggle with it.

While it doesn't look like much the shape of the Boom Olive will not appeal to all.
While it doesn’t look like much the shape of the Boom Olive will not appeal to all.

I also find that the Boom Olive doesn’t offer much stimulation apart from a gentle caressing sensation before orgasm. If you’re the type of person who does need firm G-Spot stimulation to orgasm or at least needs consistent, prominent stimulation then the Boom Olive’s stealth approach may not appease you.

The Boom Olive doesn’t work well for thrusting either, due to its shape, so keep that in mind if you like to thrust your way to orgasm.

Aside from this the main downside to the Olive is its vibrations. They might not work for everyone and especially not if you prefer deeper, stronger, or rumblier vibes. That being said if you love buzzy or gentle-to-mid level vibrations then the Bloom Olive is comparatively quite enjoyable.

Besides that I have no real reason to fault this toy. The honest truth is that it’s never failed to give me a brilliant orgasm. It’s just managed to find that perfect shape to leave me biting my lip every time I use it and I barely have to try to get to that point. Natural pleasure indeed.

Final Thoughts

When I started using the Boom Olive I was surprised. Now I’m still surprised by how well it’s performed but now I’m firmly in the realm of pleasantly surprised.

If you need firm pressure from your toy, crave very deep or very strong vibrations, or need to thrust then the Boom Olive might not be for you.

However If the shape of a G-Spot toy matters to you and a curved toy is typically what you desire then you might just be able to achieve the ‘plug n’ play’ approach that I have so lazily adopted.

Recommend to:

People who like very curved G-spot toys.

People who like gentle-to-mid level vibrations.

People who like buzzy vibrations.

Do Not Recommend to:

People who need pressure.

People who need to thrust.

People who need rumbly vibrations.
