Toy Review: The Tantus Realdoe Stout Strapless Strap On

As a queer woman I have always loved the idea of pegging and generally of owning a penis. However harnesses have always felt slightly insufficient for my desires.

Don’t get me wrong, a good harness can go a long way and they certainly have their own appeal. However there’s something about them that feels so detached compared to my personal fantasy of penetrating my partner in a very close and intimate manner. When you want to experience having your own dick there’s only so far a harness can go.

For a long time I never thought I’d get the closeness and true immersion that I was so desperately craving. Then along came the Stout.

£89.99 might seem like a lot for a sex toy but the Tantus Realdoe Stout is worth every penny. From the moment I inserted it I instantly realized what I’d been missing out on and what I’d been craving for so long finally became a reality.

Because the Stout is held in place with the pelvic floor muscles it feels much more natural than a strap-on. Not only do you get to look down and just see a dildo (your very own sizeable shaft with no straps attached) but because there is a bulb inside of you each motion made with the Stout can be felt internally, allowing each thrust to be stimulating for everyone involved.

Add some vibrations in for good measure and the Stout becomes a real winner. What can I say? I’m smitten.

The Tantus Realldoe Stout

The Tantus Stout is part of the Tantus Feeldoe line—the original patented strapless strap on. However while some of the Feeldoe line come in more abstract colours and smoother shapes the Stout is labelled a ‘Realdoe’ due to its more realistic appearance. With two other Realdoes available the Stout acts as the chunkiest of the three, with the dildo’s length measuring at about 7 inches with a 5.6-6 inch circumference. Meanwhile the bulb has an insertable length of about 3.5 inches and a 5.5 inch circumference.

The Tantus Realdoe Stout was a real game changer for me.
The Tantus Realdoe Stout was a real game changer for me.

The Stout is made out of 100% ultra-premium silicone which is hypoallergenic and completely body safe. This silicone is smooth to the touch but also rather draggy so lubricant is recommended with use. The Stout is incredibly firm and is probably the firmest Tantus toy I own. While this makes it good for anal use I do kind of wish it was more akin to the Tantus dual-density silicone (with a harder inner core and softer silicone on the surface). This would add to the realism of the Stout while also making it a bit more forgiving for vaginal insertion.

Speaking of realism the Stout looks exceptional.

With veins running down it and a nice anatomical shape it’s not hard to look down and consider the Stout to be your very own penis. What makes this even better is that when inserted the Stout points upwards slightly, mimicking an erect penis more effectively than if it just poked straight outwards. That deserves a gold star in my books.

As someone who has always appreciated gender bending the Stout made me incredibly happy and some of my favourite used for it were actually rather self-indulgent. If you, like me, simply enjoy the idea of having a penis then there’s a lot of fun to be hand inserting the bulb and either giving yourself a handjob or having a partner give you a handjob or blowjob. This works well as both foreplay and the main event, as the internal bulb is sizeable enough to provide a fair amount of stimulation and a strong orgasm. To be honest sometimes I also like wearing it just to look at it. The act of just owning and wearing this toy is arousing to me. That’s a new level of awesomeness right there.

As well as acting to hold the toy in place, the Stout's bulb provides interesting stimulation.

Inserting the shaft vaginally and using the bulb as a handle is also very effective. The Tantus Stout is a large toy and its hefty shaft is incredibly filling when inserted. Personally I’m not a big fan of thrusting too vigorously with the Stout but if thrusting if your thing then I would only recommend the Stout if you like larger, firmer toys. If you do then the Stout is a dream come true, if not it’s probably going to be a bit too much.

My orgasms with the Stout were amazing.

The filling sensation of the Stout coupled with its gradually curved shaft and prominent coronal ridge meant that sometimes I would be reaching a climax in record time. When I did the cornoal ridge of the Stout kept my G-spot firmly stimulated while its girth meant that my pelvic floor muscles had to work a little harder with every contraction, causing strong waves of pleasure that lasted for a significant time.

This is where the magic happens.

Mr. Peaches tested the Stout anally with me but, sadly, the experience wasn’t as enthusiastic for him. Because he’s still just and intermediate user the Stout was a bit too big for him and, while he appreciated the corona of the Stout (which effortlessly stimulated his prostate) he found the Stout to be just a bit too big and firm for him to comfortably take. Bravo to him for trying, though, as the Stout was a big step up for him.

Despite his initial struggles Mr. Peaches did orgasm with the Stout each time he used it and I noticed that these orgasms came a bit swifter than usual.

In terms of downsides there are only a few with the Stout. The biggest issue is weight. Because the Stout is a larger dildo it’s also quite hefty which means that you need some rather strong pelvic floor muscles to keep it in place. I didn’t personally have issues but I do kegel exercises regularly. I feel like someone who doesn’t have very confident PC muscles might need some practice before being able to effectively use the Stout.

Alternatively the Stout can be used with a harness. This may feel like it defeats the point a little for some but it also adds extra security during use. It still allows you to feel the pleasure of the bulb internally but it also makes sure that the Stout isn’t going to fall out of you. For harness use Lovehoney recommends an O-ring diameter of about 1.75.

When thrusting vigorously with the Stout I can sometimes also find the bulb to be a little uncomfortable, mainly due to how it applies pressure to my vaginal walls. I feel like this is a personal preference, though, as I’ve never been one for too much pressure.

The Stout is also a bit of a dust magnet but is thankfully waterproof and very easy to clean. Sadly it does retain some odour after anal use (which is a pet peeve of mine).

The Stout’s bullet vibe is also rather standard and doesn’t do much for a power queen like me but the Stout can comfortably take the We-Vibe Tango which is pretty much the best news ever. Once the Tango is inserted vibrations travel quite nicely through the Stout, though obviously that much silicone is going to dampen them compared to their usual potency.

Final Thoughts

Overall I adore the Tantus Realdoe Stout and I can’t recommend it enough. The sizeable shaft of the Stout is a definite winner for me and I lust over this toy—wanting to both wear it myself and have its shaft inside of me. As someone who felt like her pegging and general penis-owning dreams were never quite being achieved the Stout has managed to fill a hole in my life (in more ways than one).

I firmly recommend it to anyone looking to become (or experience) a large lover in the bedroom.

Recommend to:

People who love large toys.

People who love firm toys.

People who want a strapless strap-on (it’s everything you hope it will be).

Do Not Recommend to:

People who dislike large toys (there are smaller alternatives).

People who dislike firm toys.

People with weak pelvic floor muscles.

Lovehoney provided me with the Tantus Realdoe Stout in exchange for an honest review before its public release. Because of this a slightly modified version of this review can also be found on the product page.
