Toy Review: The JimmyJane Form 6

Honestly I didn’t know what to expect when trying out the JimmyJane Form 6 for the first time. Bondara were kind enough to provide this product to me in exchange for an honest review and, I have to admit, I was a bit apprehensive about receiving it. The last JimmyJane item I reviewed, while nice, didn’t quite do it for me, meanwhile Novelties Toy Meet Girl and Dangerous Lilly had both made their views on the Form 6 perfectly clear.

Before I knew whether or not this toy was for me I had already discovered that it is not for everyone (and was downright condemned by some) and that can be a daunting position to be in.

Thankfully the JimmyJane Form 6 managed to surprise me with just how well it worked with my body—exceeding my expectations and providing some truly breath-taking orgasms.

Okay, so this toy isn’t perfect, no toy is. But let me try and explain to you exactly why I liked the JimmyJane Form 6 so much.

The JimmyJane Form 6

The JimmyJane Form 6 is an ‘all-around’ vibrator that can be used both clitorally and internally, with both sides being capable of both forms of stimulation. While this vibrator has been poorly received by some reviewers it has an overall positive rating among customers and has received the Best New Sex Toys of 2013 award from Cosmo.

The JimmyJane Form 6 seems to be both famous and infamous.
The JimmyJane Form 6 seems to be both famous and infamous.

The JimmyJane Form 6 is waterproof (fully submersible), wireless, and rechargeable. Its charge base is small and stylish and allows the Form 6 to charge via contact instead of a cord that you insert into the toy. This charger also comes with multiple adaptors—making it great for travel. I have to admit I found placing the Form 6 in its charge base a bit awkward at first—if only because it didn’t look or feel secure enough—but once on-base the Form 6 charged without issue.

The JimmyJane Form 6 is made out of body safe, medical-grade, platinum silicone. This means that the Form 6 is non-porous and phthalate-free, which makes me a very happy reviewer. However the silicone used for the Form 6 is a complete lint-magnet so you’ll need to wash this toy thoroughly before and after use. The silicone used for the Form 6 is also very draggy, so a good amount of lube is necessary before use.

The Form 6 has three easy-to-use buttons. The + and – buttons turn the vibe on/off while also controlling the intensity of the vibrations. Meanwhile the ~ button changes the pattern used for the Form 6. There are 6 different patterns to use, which should be good news for some. The Form 6 can also travel lock, making it an even better holiday companion.

The buttons are easy enough to figure out.

Part of the Form 6’s appeal is its diversity. The Form 6 has two different sides—both of which can be used for clitoral and internal action. Each of these sides has something unique to offer and plays to a different strength.

The smaller side is best for precise G-spot or clitoral stimulation. It has a maximum circumference of about 4 inches in girth and is curved in order to help it play to its strengths. Meanwhile the other side is best for more diffuse clitoral stimulation of for providing girth internally. At 5 inches at its largest circumference this chunky end isn’t the largest toy on the market by far. However due to its draggy silicone and sleek design this end certainly does provide a filling sensation during use.

Both sides provide a different size, shape, and vibration.
Both sides provide a different size, shape, and vibration type.

In order to compliment this contrast JimmyJane also put dual motors in the Form 6. In the smaller, more curved end the Form 6 provides buzzy, more rapid motor which is better suited to pin-point precision. Meanwhile the larger end has vibrations with a bit more rumble to try and provide depth. In the grand scheme of things both of these motors are quite buzzy and neither provides an extreme amount of depth, however they do allow users to experiment with two noticeably different types of vibration providing a sense of variety and choice.

For me the vibrations didn’t actually do too much. They were basically useless clitorally and were too surface level to really hit the spot. However as soon as I held this bad boy I knew I wasn’t going to use it clitorally, no, where I really wanted it was inside of me.

Upon first use of the JimmyJane Form 6 I went a bit gung-ho and shoved the larger side in my vagina with less care than I should have. Still I could instantly tell that I was going to like this toy. The moment it was inserted I could fill its girth and draggy silicone filling me up. By sheer force of presence the Form 6 easily acquainted itself with my G-spot and was able to stimulate it vigorously through virtue of its size and shape alone. It wasn’t long before I came deep and hard. I did have the vibrations on during this experience but for me they were just the icing on the cake—the real prize was the feeling of fullness that the Form 6 provided.

This piece of metal was unnecessary.
This piece of metal was unnecessary.

After trying it this way a few times (and not wanting to part with the larger end) I begrudgingly moved on to the curved side hoping that it could at least come close to making me feel as good as its chunky counterpart did. My main hesitance with the smaller end was its metal neck. “Was that really necessary?” I thought. I expected it to be a mood killer plus, to my mind, it looked tacky (and I still think this).

Thankfully the cuved end also managed to deliver strong orgasms but in a different way. With a curve perfect for locating my G-spot the curved end confidently and precisely caressed my G-spot until waves of delight filled my body. This side definitely feels gentler during use (it’s the difference between stimulation through strokes vs. presence through size) however upon climax I was still greeted with a strong, prolonged orgasm. Again I did use the vibrations this way however they weren’t necessary and most of the time I preferred them to be off. I much prefer exploring the shape of this toy over the vibrations it delivers.

Now when a toy makes me feel this good I can’t help but gush about it to the world—hoping that they too can experience the same joy that I did. However, as my opening statements pointed out, this toy is far from perfect and as a responsible reviewer I do need to touch upon its flaws.

The biggest one—vibrations. The Form 6’s vibrations aren’t effectively strong nor overly deep. To many (such as myself) they may even seem more like an add-on to the toy instead of a fully-fledged feature. However I am going to chalk this one down to personal preference and let you decide if the Form 6 can get your motor going. If you like gentle-to-mid level buzzy vibrations then then Form 6 is probably within your range of enjoyment, but if you know that you need more from a toy then this isn’t the toy for you.

Pattern lovers may also be disappointed to hear that the 6 different patterns for the Form 6 are mostly superfluous. A lot of them focus on bouncing between the two different motors which, in most cases, is useless. You’re most likely only going to be using one end at a time so there’s no real benefit to this reverberating effect. The patterns do, however, let you chose whether you want both ends on or simply one end or the other, which is useful.

Another big issue with the Form 6 is that its controls aren’t massively defined and, depending on how you use the Form 6, they might even be inserted during use. As you can imagine this makes changing the settings during use a pain and I really don’t know why sex toy companies keep on making this choice. It’s happened at least two times now and that’s two times too many in my book.

The last big issue for me is the noise of this thing; the Form 6 is not a quiet vibrator and, on its lower settings, it can even sound downright demonic. There’s a high pitched wailing that it makes which is particularly prominent on the first few settings and it kind of reminds me of a movie monster’s shrill and overdone whines at times. If you need a discreet toy the Form 6 is not your friend. I don’t think the noises it makes are anyone’s friend to be honest.

Final Thoughts

The JimmyJane Form 6 retails at £108.99 over at Bondara and when a toy costs that much there’s a lot to factor in.

When deciding whether or not to buy this toy I urge you to consider what sort of vibrations you like, whether you’re looking for clitoral or internal stimulation, if you need a lot of strength, etc. All of these will influence your decisions to buy and, with a toy like this, careful consideration is needed.

Overall I really liked the JimmyJane Form 6. I would never use this toy as a clitoral vibe (as its too weak for me) however the sensations it provided me with when used vaginally were deep, prominent, and prolonged. I savoured every orgasm I had with the JimmyJane Form 6 and I’m looking forward to using it in toy sessions to come.

With a lot of variety in a toy comes a lot of decisions to do with preference, however if the JimmyJane Form 6 ticks your boxes then I feel confident that you can get it to work with your body and have a damned good time doing so too.

I’m glad it worked for you! It’s good to hear from people that enjoy it too

    • Yeah it was quite a surprise! Here’s hoping it can work for others too. Nobody wants to buy a really expensive toy only for it to be a complete and utter miss.
