Toy Review: The Waterproof Pocket Exotics® Waterproof Bullet

Now, I may be a loud-and-proud power queen but that doesn’t mean that I can’t appreciate a lighter touch from time-to-time, nor does it mean that I’ve forgotten that not everyone is like me. Some people simply don’t need the same level of power that I consistently crave and, for those people, a good bullet is often a joy all its own.

I also started loving vibes through finding the right bullet, so I’m certainly not immune to their charms. That being said not every bullet impresses me and many are actually quite terrible (in my opinion at least). This is why I was quite cautious when I received the Waterproof Pocket Exotics® Waterproof Bullet from CalExotics in exchange for an honest review.

Retailing at about £23.41 (as of this review) I was hoping that Pocket Exotics® Waterproof Bullet would do something noteworthy in order to earn its price tag (what can I say? When it comes to bullets I set high standards). Thankfully the Pocket Exotics® Waterproof Bullet proved to be fairly decent experience. It’s not something I see myself personally using a lot but it is something I will use on occasion and I do feel like many people will be pleased with its vibrations.

The Waterproof Pocket Exotics® Waterproof Bullet

The Waterproof Pocket Exotics® Waterproof Bullet is designed to be a nice and basic bullet vibe. Four different speeds allow users to up the intensity without having to worry about too many controls or features. The speeds are controlled via a control unit which is connected to the bullet via a wire. The control unit is very comfortable to handle and the two controls (^ and v) allow users to effortlessly go up and down the settings.

This bullet vibe does the job it sets out to do.

The typical benefit of a corded bullet (aside from better controls) tends to be the ability to allow your partner to control the vibrations. However the wire connecting the bullet to the controls is about 25 inches which may be too short for some. I know Mr. Peaches and I like more leeway if I’m handing over the reins, but this vibe may work fine for some couples and still works well for solo play.

The control section also houses this toys batteries. 2 AA batteries are required (not included) to power this vibe.

The bullet is made out of ABS plastic with a PU (polyurethane) coating. This is an utter classic for bullet vibes. ABS Plastic is quite a rigid material—which allows the bullet to be more pin-point and precise and transfers vibrations very well. Meanwhile the PU coating gives this bullet a silky smooth feeling which is definitely appreciated. This material is also non-porous and phthalate-free, so it’s pretty body safe.

CalExotics states that this bullet is waterproof, and this is true, but I still wouldn’t recommend submerging the controller. The waterproof feature is mainly convenient for a thorough clean. I’m not sure how well this toy would fare for underwater fun.

The bullet used for this vibe is very well-shaped and sized. Looking like a stretched out oval, the bullet measures 2.5 inches in length and has a circumference of 3.25 inches at its girthiest point. This allows for some really nice precision play which people who like pin-point stimulation will appreciate. While I usually prefer more dispersive vibes the Pocket Exotics® Waterproof Bullet did fit very comfortably in between my labia and I enjoyed the snug fit.

The settings are easy to use and provide a nice range.

For me the real highlight of this bullet was the vibrations. CalExotics claim that this bullet is ‘powerful’ and it’s hard to fault them. Even on the lowest levels this bullet can deliver a pretty nice degree of power, at least for a battery-powered toy. On the lowest two levels the bullet actually has a fair bit of rumble too it—or at least a rapid-rumble that is on the verge of buzzy. This was a nice surprise as I hadn’t expected it from this toy. The rumble isn’t hugely penetrating but I still found it rather pleasing—so much so that I even found myself able to climax on the second setting.

When the settings go up they become buzzier but also deliver quite a lot of power for a bullet. Because of the buzziness it’s nowhere near as strong as the We-Vibe Tango, and it may be the kind of vibrations that numb some people out, but it’s still decently powerful and could be appreciated by some.

Of course the biggest downside with this vibrator is also one of its biggest assets; not everyone is going to like these vibrations. They do become incredibly buzzy and do go outside of my comfort zone at times. But the gentler levels are still fairly decent and I think people who are new to vibrators or people who know they love toys with a lot of buzz will probably reap the benefits of this toy.

Another issue to keep in mind with this vibrator, though, is its volume levels. This toy isn’t the most silent of products, so people who need utter discretion may find this toy to be a deterrent (especially on the higher settings).

A lack of patterns might also be a buzz-kill for some people, which is something to consider when deciding to buy this vibe.

Final Thoughts

Overall I’m happy with what this vibrator provides for the price. It’s not working to break new ground but it does work well for what it is and even managed to provide me with some of the sensations that it provided.

If you love buzzy toys and crave pin-point sensations then this bullet might just have your number. If not then you might need to looks somewhere else to get your motor rumbling.

I’m not a fan of wires, but I respect toys that can provide both buzzy and rumbly vibrations. That’s bound to help someone discover what they like!
