Toy Review: Je Joue’s G-Kii 2 Adjustable G-Spot Vibrator

044

‘Indifferent’ was the word that I was going to use to describe my relationship with this vibrator. Having received this toy from Lovehoney, in exchange for an honest review, I hoped for fireworks and, instead, got a fizzled sparkler of an experience. Whenever I attempted to use it with my partner (as part of our joint play sessions) it just wasn’t bringing the magic that I had hoped it would. Because of this I was fully prepared to be writing up a regretfully negative review for this toy. Thankfully the G-Kii, I decided to wait until I’d had a chance to play with it alone before passing judgement because, oh boy, there were fireworks alright!

Je Joue’s G-Kii 2 Adjustable G-Spot Vibrator is a follow up from the original G-Ki vibrator which I haven’t had the pleasure of using. However, if you want to know more about the differences there’s a useful post about it over at the Lovehoney forum which can be found here.

The G-Kii comes in a sturdy box that would be suitable for gift-giving.
The G-Kii comes in a sturdy box that would be suitable for gift-giving.

The G-Kii is made out of 100% FDA-approved, body-safe silicone—so you don’t need to worry about any nasty chemicals ruining your play—but this does mean that this toy isn’t suitable for use with silicone lubricants. The silicone is seam-free and has a nice smooth feel to it, though it’s not necessarily soft. For a silicone toy, the G-Kii doesn’t steal up as much dirt or hair as it could do, and this was a pleasant surprise for me. You should still wash it before and after every use, but more for general hygiene than to get off a coating of dust and grime.

The G-Kii doesn't gather too much dust, even in the lighter colours.

Underneath the silicone the toy has a nice, firm, head and a firm handle—which also doubles as a clitoral stimulator when the toy is bent into the right position; which brings me to the next aspect of this toy. The G-Kii can be bent into a variety of shapes, allowing the user to decide what works best for them. You don’t get complete free reign; the toy has a variety of positions that will ‘click’ into place, but the variety you get (and, indeed the fact that you even get this sort of variety) is an impressive feature. Below are some photos of the various positions you can bend this toy into. I may not have got them all, but these were the most obvious ones.

The G-Kii has a lot of flexibility in terms of options.

The G-Kii also offers an impressive range of vibrations. There are different patterns to choose from and 5 different levels of intensity. Again is provides a fantastic range of variety. While I’m not typically a fan of vibration patterns in toys (preferring to stick to the consistent vibration pattern), most of the patterns that the G-Kii provides seem to have a purpose and a useful application.

Lovehoney describes the G-Kii as having 5 patterns of vibrations, in which case I must be losing my reviewer marbles because I counted 7. By my count the patterns are as follows:

Pattern 1: The default setting. A rapid succession of consistent, deep, pulsating vibrations that can be felt equally in the clitoral and G-spot zones.

Pattern 2: The same rapid succession of vibrations felt primarily in the clitoral zone.

Pattern 3: A rapid succession of vibrations felt mainly in the G-spot zone, with more of a buzz to them.

Pattern 4: A rolling bout of pulsating vibrations (similar in sound and frequency of a horse trotting) that can be felt both in the clitoral and G-spot zones.

Pattern 5: A slow succession of deep, pulsating vibrations that can be felt equally in the clitoral and G-spot zones.

Pattern 6: A back-and-fourth of deep-but-buzzy vibrations bouncing from the clitoral zone to the G-spot zone.

Pattern 7: A quick-fire of deep, pulsating vibrations in both the clitoral and G-spot zones.

Now, I more than triple checked this and I’m pretty sure there are 7 distinct patterns included in this toy.

Looking at the instructions manual for the G-Kii, it had this to say on the issue of vibrations:

“There are 5 levels of vibrations to choose from. To change from a constant vibration to a pulse vibration click the ~ (middle button) there are 6 different pulse vibration patterns”

So, with this information in mind, I’ve come to the conclusion that there really are 7 different patterns; one being continuous vibrations (the standard setting) and the other 6 constituting what the manual counts as ‘vibration patterns’. Good to know I’m not losing my marbles after all, but, really, it shouldn’t take this much effort to find out how may vibration patterns your sex toy has. But I digress.

When it comes to vibration strength, this toy varies from a gentle purr to a more assertive pulsation. These vibrations feel nice and are well-suited to the jobs they set out to do. Regardless I would still rate them as only being on the higher scale of mid-strength vibrations. They’ll definitely leave an impression, but they’re easily rivalled by the strength of most decent wand vibrators. Still, not everyone wants that level of strength. So if horse power isn’t the goal for you then I think this toy will have you covered in the strength department. If you count yourself as a power Queen, though, then this toy might not deliver the same strength in its vibrations that you crave.

Here’s a video of the G-Kii on its continuous setting, to give you an idea of the type of vibrations and the strength you might expect:

One thing I will say about the vibrations of the G-Kii is that, while they are deep, they never really break over into rumbly territory—preferring, instead, to pulsate or buzz, or mix those two together. This shouldn’t be a deal breaker for many, but if you’re specifically looking for a toy with rumbly vibrations then the G-Kii might not be for you.

The G-Kii comes with a magnetic charger.
The G-Kii comes with a magnetic charger.

Back to the plus points, the G-Kii is completely rechargeable. It has a magnetic charger that snaps onto the toy to charge it. When the toy is charging a little red light at the end of the toy’s handle (cheekily placed In the middle of the Je Joue logo) will show on-and-off. Once the red light starts showing continuously you’re good to take it off charge and enjoy the ride. Two hours of charging will get you two hours of play, which is a pretty good deal. The other benefit of having a magnetic charge-point is that the toy is completely waterproof. A plus for anyone who has outgrown their rubber ducky and wants a new toy for the tub.

This toy does have a few bad points though and, since I’m already talking about it, I might as well start with the magnetic clip. This clip is weak, so weak that nudging your toy can cause the connection to cut out at times. Imagine putting your toy on charge then, after two hours, grabbing for it, in the heat of the moment, only to realize that the connection was nudged and that the toy hasn’t charged at all. Frustrating. This has only happened to me once but, frankly, it’s one time too many.

The G-Kii's button can be a bit of a pain.
The G-Kii’s button can be a bit of a pain.

The button that you use to adjust the toy’s curve is also very finicky. The best way to change positions without getting a horrible clunking noise is to put pressure on the head of the toy in the opposite direction from the way that you want to position the toy. So if you want the head to go down a bit you apply pressure in an upwards manner, if you want the toy to go upwards you apply pressure in a downwards manner. However, even with this method a firm hand is needed, and it still leaves you worried that you might have broken something when it clicks in and out of position. Worrying if I’ve broken my toy as I’m about to use it hardly puts me in the mood for play.

Also, depending on which position the toy is in depends on whether or not you’ll be getting any clitoral stimulation. On the recommended (beginners) position, the vibrating clitoral part of the handle is so far away from the vulva that you’ll hardly be getting any sensation. This means that, if you enjoy the less curved positions, but still want clitoral stimulation, then you’re out of luck. Because this toy’s handle is made to double up as a clitoral vibe it’s also very bulky, making it difficult to position another toy in place to deal with your clit as an alternative method. Not ideal.

The button meant for repositioning isn’t the only one that requires a firm hand and, indeed, all of this toys buttons need to be pressed quite firmly in order to get them to work. In some ways this is a positive point, because it means the toy is very unlikely to accidentally turn on. However, it can hurt your fingers at times to press these buttons, and I rarely manage to turn this toy on with my first attempt, just because I forget how much pressure I need to apply.

So how did this toy work for me? Well, like I said, at first I really couldn’t get much in the way of pleasure from this toy. The vibrations aren’t really the kind that do much for my clitoris (not rumbly enough, or speedy enough) and I’ve already confessed to not being the most adept at G-Spot orgasms. Both of these factors meant that, during couples play, I would try this toy out for a while, sigh a sigh of defeat, and then grab for something more reliable, like my Mona 2.

However, I was determined not to post up my review of this toy before giving it a proper go on my own. I arranged some time alone, got myself nice and aroused, and then retried the G-Kii on its beginners setting (so that I could wedge my Liv 2 in for some added clitoral stimulation). It was then that the magic happened. I experienced a deep, satisfying, rolling G-Spot orgasm that left me in awe at the wonders of the human body. I also found that the G-Kii’s pulse vibrations are perfectly designed to prolong and enhance an orgasm of this kind and allow you ride out the pleasure. I was a very happy reviewer.

This toy can be a great addition to your toybox once you've mastered it.

Because of my experiences, I’d best describe the G-Kii as a toy for personal play, best used solo (at least at first). Because of the different vibrations strengths, different patterns, and (of course) the different head angles that this toy can produce, this toy is something that you really need to take the time to explore with, before introducing it into regular sessions with your partner. I think I’d probably even recommend this toy to G-spot beginners. It’s not an instant solution to a lack of G-spot orgasms but, because this toy encourages personal exploration to such a high level, it really allows you to get to know your body, your preferences and discover what works for you. The pulsations on this vibe and the customisation would probably make it appropriate for G-spot veterans too, though I really can’t comment on that.

Overall I really enjoy using Je Joue’s G-Kii Adjustable G-Spot Vibrator. It may take a little bit of time to figure out how to make this toy work for you but, once you do, it’s well worth the effort (and the price tag).

Recommend to:

Beginners to G-spotting.

People who like pulsating vibrations.

People who like variety from their toys.

Do Not Recommend to:

People who just want a quick G-spot orgasm.

People who like rumbly vibrations.

People who lack a firm hand.

  • Okay: I didn’t read it, I checked the pics.

I’m getting a black one to review myself. Great pics though, and after my review is up I will stop back by and compare our thoughts :-)

    • emmelinepeaches

I look forward to seeing your review. Should be interesting to trade notes, as it were ;)

  • ooo I think that Lilac color might be my favorite option for the G-Kii!

    • emmelinepeaches

Yeah. I admit, I didn’t think I’d like it when I first received the toy, but now I think this colour really compliments the overall aesthetic appeal of the toy.

  • I like the idea of adjusting my vibrator to stimulate my G-spot, A-spot, cervix, and/or perineal sponge. The simple fact that I can change the shape of the toy (and not just how I hold it), makes the Gi-Kii 2 very appealing.
A plague on finicky magnetic chargers! One time too many indeed!

Adjusting it gives a great amount of freedom in comparison to other vibes, which is probably why I discovered my G-Spot with it. But that magnetic charger is a pain!
